(I know there are threads about this, so please direct me there as I searched and am having difficulty finding the answer to this.)
Otherwise:

Long time DVC owners. However we’ve never gone to the top of BLT for the fireworks. We’d like to go tonight (Monday, 10/28). We’re not interested in buying the package with a drink & dessert. We just want to go up and watch, maybe have a cocktail or two.

How do I go about this? We have a total of 5 adults.
TIA for your help.

We've had luck walking up 15 minutes prior to fireworks. One time, they asked for my phone number to verify membership, and another time, they just let us go up.

We are staying at BLT in January, we can try to go up about 1/2 hour before the fireworks. Is that correct?

We just bought our first contract at BLT resale. I know we aren’t eligible for the Top of the World Lounge, but are we able to go up to the observation deck to watch fireworks? Thanks for any info!

Yes, there is a public viewing area that you can access. They do sometimes check if you are eligible, but it's mostly during peak demand. To be "eligible" you have to be DVC-Y AND staying there on a reservation.

You can also just watch from the bridge leading to the Contemporary - I honestly don't think the view from high up is that much better. They were clearly checking eligibility for New Year's fireworks (we were staying at a different resort, so couldn't access even with DVC-Y) and this is what we caught just watching from the bridge.

For comparison, this from a summer week from the lounge area...You see more of the TRON/Space Mountain buildings and Astro Orbiters (yay?) but if you care about the actual fireworks, it's pretty much the same experience.

I actually think the angle from BLT ruins some of the magic because when you're inside the park everything seems like it's "just above" the castle. In reality, the big fireworks come from way, way behind it. You can see what I mean with the next 2 photos.

I think I know this answer but What is the definition of ‘staying there on reservation’ ? We are blue card and MMB but out of points so staying next week on cash, does that mean we can not use TOTWL, book Wicked Wind Down, or use the Epcot/DS lounges?

At one times you had to be using your membership for Wicked Wind Down, but not sure if that is still required.

I don’t believe the other requires it. Staying on property should be enough.
