BLT -- A Sandwich or a Resort? Nov 09 TR (12/9 Lessons Learned)

OK, I thought I had to pick up my own luggage at the airport and take it to the ME bus. This is great news if they will pick it up for me.

So on the return, then I have to check my own luggage?

i'm pretty sure that's how it works.

I think on the return it has to do with getting the ticketing/boarding passing computer systems to link up.......

no I Just meant they will check your luggage for you for your return trip home

They throw your luggage underneat bus and take you to airport. Then you just need to go and check your baggage in yourself :thumbsup2

Yeppers....They pick it up for you :thumbsup2

Exactly...you got it now :woohoo:

Oh, I guess reading comprehension is not my strong point.:goodvibes

Its all good girl

I think I actaully missed a word in the post you quote....should have said...they will NOT check your luggage when you leave to go home...have to take it yourself and they throw it under bus and then u go check it in yourself at airport

Forgot to post my flight.

So I got SW flight from IAD (Dulles) to MCO. We leave at 10:30am (wish there was an earlier flight though but this way we aren't getting up at o-god-early) and arrive at 12:50pm.

Then our return flight is at 3:05pm and gets in at 5:15pm (wish there was a later flight but this probably works out well so we can get the girls to bed at a reasonable time).

yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bet it feels more real now with flights booked :woohoo:

Yes, it does!

And since I started Rachel's autograph book, that makes it even more so. For me, if I'm working on a Disney craft, then it must mean a trip is 'round the corner!:cutie:

Flights and we get to see the creation of another autograph book - ¥aay!

Oops, thanks!! I went to update with today's date and obviously got a little too delete-happy.:goodvibes

hehe no problem! :thumbsup2

Actually he does...and the brother Rich just took his wife to Ireland for 2 weeks...last year was Australia for 3.5 weeks. His brother is a really nice guy.

niiiiiiiiice!!!

I was actually on-line booking my flights with them, after checking to see if the other airlines had a better deal. They did not, so I'm booked on SW at $74 each way...not too bad. I could have saved $150 Total if we'd fly out of BWI, but that's not worth it when we factor in time and gas and parking.

Of course if a DING comes up then I'll be mad b/c our next trip isn't until July and we won't be able to apply the credit to that trip.

I was trying to decide if I should book now or wait for a cheaper flight...dilemma, dilemma. I decided to book. Better safe than sorry.

Yeah:goodvibes this trip is feeling more real!

Next step: book Magical Express. But first I have to read about this since ME doesn't work with SW to our hotel (yet).

smart to book now! :goodvibes

So let me get this straight...

They'll pick you up at the airport, drop you off on Disney property, and then leave your sorry behind there? How are you supposed to get BACK to the airport? Or do you just live at Disney World from that point on?

:rotfl2: this SOOOO cracked me up

Those are reasonable flight times. WTG!

Sorry for such a long delay in posting! I've been sick since June 26th. First hubby got the flu then a cold in mid-June; he kindly shared it with my DD3 but thankfully it was just a cold; then I finally caught it. I was starting to fear when Elizabeth was coughing too.

I finally went to the doctor today and found out I don't have just a cold:

- outer ear infection
- inner ear infection
- sinus infection
- 101.5 degree fever
- psorrasis (sp) of the ear (I already knew I had that on my knees)

So I finally got meds today -- Cifdinir. It's a generic of Omnicef...never had it before. I feel like crap...can't wait for the drugs to work. DH is being great and took yesterday and today off of work to care for the girls.

Next post will have trip updates!:goodvibes

Yesterday we closed on our 50 AKV points!!

If you recall, we made our flight with Southwest. Well, they have this great little feature where you can get a "credit" if your ticket prices go down.

Well, while sick, of course I have to stay up on Disney and one time I checked and sure enough our flights were $30 total cheaper. I quickly IM'd Sharky, resident knows-it-all, and had her help me figure out how to do it.

Yeah -- $30 credit!

Then today I checked again, and our flight was down again, so now we have a $84 credit.

At this time we have no trip planned but we may just do an impromptu trip next spring to 'wherever is on sale' -- you know one of those $29 or $39 one way sales to Cincinnati or wherever. We'll let SW determine a quick 2 day vacation for us. I figure every city will have something in it that is fun to do -- at least a zoo, park or playground.

As for our November trip, we decided to just purchase tickets for this trip -- one park, one day but no expiration and we'll buy extra days to use in the future.

As we were planning out our points for July 2010 and May 2011, we realized that it would be a whole lot smarter to purchase an annual pass for two 7-day trips, then for a 4-day trip and a 7 day trip. Esp with SW's schedule, we really won't have lots of time in the park on the day we arrive and we'll have no time on the day we leave.

So of course, this changes our ADRs around ... and I'll work on that later.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: at least some good things happened while you have been sick. Can't complain about that :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the good wishes on my health! I went back to the doc to get my ear checked out...still fluid behind the ear so they recommended nasal saline spray 2x/day. Seems weird to me to treat the ear by going through the nose, but we'll see. She said it'll start to improve in a week or I need to come back for some strong meds.

================
Now back to the trip. I've read the rumors that Disney will increase their ticket prices on August 1st, so I've been researching tickets and found Undercover Tourist and Great Getaways to have the best prices.

I think we'll get a 6 day Non Expiration pass so we can use 3 days for this trip and then have another 3 days to use in the future. We may add on the Water Parks/Disney Quest option since I know DD4 will love Disney Quest and we'll probably want to go to a water park next July.

Hope that nasal spray helps and you don't have to get that other medication.

I'm so frustrated at Disney and their ticket prices. I'm trying to get mine before they raise the price again too. Ugh!

Good idea getting the 6 days no expiration. Will save you $ in the long run.:thumbsup2

Where are you going to get your tickets? I've done research and like the two I mentioned above...do you have another company?

We're getting ours through my friend Rebecca 'cause I'm sneaky and cheap like that  I've never gotten them through any of those discount sites before. Sorry I can't help there :sad2:
