I had a blood clot in August, I'm on cumidin and they think it was an isolated thing. So has anyone else had this, recoved and ride all the rides? I think we will be going in Jan or Feb, my surgeon says I can ride whatever I want, but I don't know if she knows there's more to it than just Dumbo.

Anyone out there have any experiences to share?

No personal experience, but I think I would tend to stay away from rides with a fair amount of G forces...Mission Space (orange), RnR, maybe ToT. You will enjoy regardless, it's the World.

With coumadin, I'd think you'd also have to be concerned with getting banged up, as well. I'd avoid Dinosaur, that one's so rough it just about rattled my teeth loose. And also, I've heard reports of people getting off Primeval Whirl with bruises.

DH had an injury that put him on coumadin for a while. He needed to avoid getting cut or bruise, since they could both lead to excessibe bleeding. I would just stick to the tamer rides.

My DH has been on coumadin for 13 years, after having 2 blood clots in his late 20's (hereditary). He rode Mission:Space with no problems and we never really worried about any rides over the years. I would worry more about moving around and not sitting for long periods on your trip down, especially if you drive, so blood doesn't pool in your legs. You will have a wonderful time no matter what you do/don't ride; I think I could go to Disney and not ride a thing and still be thrilled. Have a great trip!

I have had several clots (hereditary) and still ride everything in Disney. My clots were in my leg, so I have to wear compression stockings. My legs do swell with all the walking, but wearing the stockings keeps them from getting too big. Watch your protimes from now until then. If your blood isn't made too thin (happened to me a couple of times) you should be fine. Have a great trip!

I will tell you what I tell every guest who asks me, "If you have any question or concern at all, don't go on the ride".

While folks with a like condition might have been ok, everyone is different. You might be fine on them, too, but I have a feeling the worry in the back of your mind could cause a little stress for you. There are plenty of other rides for you to enjoy without a concern.

Just my personal opinion. Whatever you choose to do, have a safe journey to Orlando and enjoy your visit. We'll be waiting for you.
