This is going to be my very first "live" dining report, so please bear with me!

We're heading back to the World in just a couple of days (as you can tell by my ticker, depending on when you read this ;)) and will be on the regular DDP. We've been to WDW before, twice on the DXDP and once for a quick weekend OOP. This will be our first regular DDP trip.

I suppose I should introduce "us." I'm blondinkaya. I'm thirty (*cough* *cough*). I'm an administrative goddess, so my boss tells me, lol. My hubby is Donald. He's been active duty military for over 19 years now and is counting down to retirement. We have two boys, Goofy (age 15) and Mickey (age 7). You can probably guess that those aren't their real names. I'm using Disney names to protect the innocent. :lmao: I would call myself Tinker Bell because my middle name is indeed Bell, but I'll just stick with my username. Actually, I'll refer to myself in the first person, so it doesn't really matter, does it? ;)

Here's a pic of us from our 2009 trip. I'm the one on the right.

Final Thoughts http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=40013996#poststop

Planned snacks include the ever-so-awesome Dole Whip Floats, Zebra Domes from Mara, something or other from France, and whatever floats our boat. I'm willing to accept suggestions. We will be visiting all four parks (we have hoppers).

Donald just asked me if Grand Marnier slushies counted as snacks and said the boys can have ice cream bars. :rotfl: I think he's onto something! Sadly, I had to tell him that alcohol does not use snack credits.

So ... Speaking of alcohol, we (or one of us) intend to try the Lapu Lapu at the Poly, beer at Germany and England, slushies in France, and Margaritas in Mexico. That's the goal, anyway. Anything else will be icing on the cake.

Word of warning: I'm not sure how many pics will be with my IPhone and how many will be with our camera. I'm sure you're all just tingly with suspense!

I'm in! I am going to try doing a live food and drink report too when I go in 2 weeks :)

We will be there the same time...looking forward to your reviews

Nicki ~ Will you be doing one of your WONDERFUL :cool1: live dining reviews :worship:?

LOL! This time, since it is just a weekender, I promised Todd that I would leave the computer at home....soo you guys will have to wait until Monday when I can do the reviews...since I am off that day I will probably do the entire thing in one sitting!

But....I will still take oodles of pictures!

Count me in! I have my TS dining PS reservations made, but we are still deciding on CS meals!

How's this for live? I'm in the car right now; GPS says we have 250 miles to go! We left about 80 minutes ago, and traffic has been nonexistent.

Since this is a food report, we had doughnuts before leaving the house, the boys had milk with theirs and dh and I had coffee (decaf for me). Sorry, no pics of that, lol! I packed some ham and cheese sandwiches, chips, and drinks just in case we get munch-ish on our way down.

That's it for now! I'm really looking forward to dinner at Kona today!

you lucky thing - very envious - what's the weather like?

Right now it's 43 degrees F. It's beautiful and sunny without a cloud in the sky.

140 miles away now! Can't wait!

Haven't needed those sandwiches yet, lol

Well, I'm at the Kona, enjoying my Lapu Lapu. First time I've tried one. Yummy! Already had the appie and awaiting main course. Will update w/pics and reviews when we return to the room.

Looking forward to the live report! Have a wonderful dinner! Can't wait for pictures of Kona!

Okay, I'm back in our cabin. What a yummy day!

First excellent tasting was at Mara, in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I HAD to try the zebra domes! I heard of them years ago but never made the trip over to try them until now. The only thing is … I forgot to take pics until after we ate them all! Doh! Can we chock it up to a rookie mistake? Or how about I insert a pic of one I found on Google, courtesy of the mouse owners website.

Our much anticipated dinner was at Kona. Our ressie was for 5:35, but we got there early (actually, before they even opened) and we got a buzzer right away. Wait time was about 15-20 minutes before we were seated. Hubby ordered an Island Sunset and I got the Lapu Lapu.

Goofy ordered a berry smoothie and Mickey wanted chocolate milk. Smoothie:

The bread arrived right after the drinks! I think Mickey ate most of it!

The “adults” went with the chef's special, which consists of a choice of appie, entree, and dessert. For appies, I got the wontons, Donald the coconut shrimp curry, and Goofy the Kona Salad:

For the entrees, I ordered the macadamia nut crusted chicken, Donald got the shrimp pan-asian noodles, and Goofy got the chicken pan-asian noodles. All three of us received the Kilauea torte:

Not forgotten, Mickey got the hot dog, fries, and sundae:

Now for the reviews. Everyone liked everything, but the service was slow. That said, our server, Debie, was very friendly and personable.

Tomorrow: Epcot and Rose and Crown and some booze. Stay tuned!
