Blondinkaya's Goin' Live (Food and Alcohol w/Pics)! Updated with Final Thoughts

At the Rose & Crown, waiting for lunch and enjoying a black and tan. Weather is absolutely fabulous! Will post more in-depth and pics later!

Well, day #2 is done. Lots of goodies today!

We had doughnuts in the room and then headed off to Epcot. Lunch today was at the Rose and Crown. This was a new restaurant for us, and we enjoyed it. Although … We were seated under a covered area that was also open. We warily eyed the seagulls throughout the meal.

For our entrees, Donald and I ordered the fish and chips. Goofy got the bangers and mash, and Mickey the kids' fish and chips, which came with carrot and celery sticks and peas. OMG the fish were awesome! And it was great washed down with the black and tans Donald and I had.

For dessert, Donald and I both ordered the sticky toffee pudding. All I can say is: Awesome!

Goofy got the tarte and practically licked his plate clean.

Mickey got the kids' sundae, of course, and it quickly disappeared.

As I said, this was a very enjoyable meal. We didn't feel too full afterwords. I hate it when that happens. I think having the fish helped. It was nice and light, albeit deep fried, lol. Rose and Crown is definitely a repeat restaurant.

After lunch, we headed over to France for our Grand Marnier Orange Slush. Sooo good!

We then headed over to Japan to do some shopping and get the boys Kaki Goris.

When we felt our tanks had emptied enough, off to Germany we went. Donald and I got Oktoberfest beers. Sorry for the bad pic!

We headed to the caramel shop. I cannot even begin to describe the smell in the store! It was divine! We ordered a cookie (Goofy didn't wait for me to take a pic of his before he started chowing down, Donald and Mickey got milk chocolate caramels, and I got a cupcake.

Our original intent was to eat a CS dinner at the World Showcase, but we were feeling pretty tired. It kind of helps to know that we'll be returning, so I didn't feel rushed to try to do or eat everything, lol. We rode the bus back to our cabin to relax a bit. We then went over to Roaring Forks (at Wilderness Lodge).

Mickey got the cheese pizza with grapes, applesauce, and apple juice. As you can tell, he enjoyed his pizza!

Donald got the daily special: Buffalo chicken flat bread. He said it was good and spicy.

Goofy ordered the chicken nuggets and fries.

I was in the mood for a cheeseburger, so that's what I got. It came with a “vegetable salad.” I dunno, I was expecting a garden salad or something other than pickled cucumbers. They tasted all right, but I couldn't eat more than three or four.

For drinks, we were pretty boring and got water. For dessert (sorry, no pics), Donald and Goofy got frosted brownies. My goodness are these huge!!! I got a fruit salad. We ended up bringing Mickey's grapes and applesauce and our brownies and fruit salad back to the room. Donald cut one brownie into four pieces, and that was our evening snack. Not sure when we'll get around to eating the other one. The fruit we can have when we're getting ready tomorrow morning.

Speaking of … Magic Kingdom food coming up next!

Our plans for today have changed, thanks to technical difficulties at MK. Almost all the rides were down due to technical issues, so we hopped over to HS. We're at Pizza Planet now. I cancelled Tony's for tonight and was able to snag 50's Prime Time. Haven't been there before, so we'll see ...

Hopefully the rides will be back up tomorrow. Have a great time at DHS.

I love me some Black and Tan!:drinking1 Just might need to add Rose and Crown to the list now!

Well, we're back in the cabin. Today was … unexpected. I am, by nature, a planner, although I did pledge that I would be more spontaneous on this trip. I can say that I lived up to that promise today. Our original plan involved being at the Magic Kingdom all day, having our TS meal at Tony's. When we arrived and almost all the rides were down with no estimated fix time, we scrapped the itinerary. It bit, but at least we were able to go on the speedway, tea cups, IASW, and the tree house. Yep … That's all that was working this morning! We opted to hop over to HS, and while on the bus, I was able to book 50's Prime Time and cancel Tony's.

As soon as we arrived, we headed over to Pizza Planet. I've heard negative things about pizza at the World in general, but this stuff was pretty good. Mickey opted for a cheese pizza with applesauce, a cookie, and a soda. Sorry, no pic, but it pretty much looked like the Roaring Forks pizza he already ate. Goofy, Donald, and I all had veggie pizzas with salads, cookies, and sodas. We all were pretty hungry by now, and everything hit the spot.

Afterward, we saw some sights, rode TSMM, and I went on the RNRC for the very first (and last) time. I did have to laugh at the end, though, because the photo was so pathetic. We ended up buying it, lol. After that, we stopped by Starring Rolls for drinks. The boys had juice, dh had water, and I had a mini bottle of Pinot Grigio. After the roller coaster, I could've used a stiffer drink, LOL

For dinner, we were able to check into Prime Time early. Mickey ordered the chicken and pasta.

He did very well with it and ate almost all the beans. It may have been because he was told to, lol.

Goofy ordered the meatloaf. His plate was practically licked clean.

Donald and I started off with drinks. He ordered a Long Island iced tea, and I got the Magic Star cocktail.

For our entrees, both Donald and I got the special, which consisted of two pieces of fried chicken, greens, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, pot roast, and green beans and carrots. It was A LOT of food!

My favorite was the meatloaf, and Donald enjoyed the pot roast most of all. Funny thing, I ate all my green beans but not the greens, and he ate all of his greens but not his green beans. We got lectured for that, but it wasn't too stern.

For dessert, Donald shared his sundae with Mickey:

Goofy ordered smores. They disappeared in the same fashion as his meatloaf.

I fell in love with the Boston cream pie parfait. It was so good that I ate the entire thing! And I absolutely refuse to feel guilty for it!

So … While today did not go as planned and we got off on the wrong foot in the MK, it did end well.

Coming up tomorrow: Yak and Yeti lunch and who knows what for dinner. It may be something in MK, since we missed out on it today!

Enjoyed reading your review with pictures. We will be going to some of your restaurants.

I have never seen this special! Is it new or something they have everyday now. Tell me more, tell me more.....anyone?:rolleyes1

Hey, everyone! Sorry I've been gone! I'm going to have to change the title to "Blondinkaya's ALMOST live report." We just got home. The final few days in the parks just tuckered me out so much that my head was hitting the pillow as soon as it could. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the trip and I must say that this was the most spontaneous and leisurely one we've had to date, but I tend to tire easily (darn thyroid).

I'm going to answer the questions posed here and post some more reviews in a bit. I promise!

Wow, that just made my must-try snack list for our trip! Was it as good as it looks?

Hi, Colleen, sorry I took so long to get back to you. The chocolate caramel was awesome! I was nice and soft, not the filling-pulling type that you get in the grocery store. It was very ... "buttery." Yes, it was as good as it looked!

But ... Beware ... Going into that shop is addictive, just for the smell alone! :cloud9:
