It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be! The Cardiologist I went with plays ice hockey with DH, so we had a little something to chat about. I find that if you have something in common, or can talk about a topic that you are both familiar with, it really makes the time go quicker!

The worse part is the brillo pad thing they use to scrape the skin on your chest area where they attached the electrodes, OUCH!

It was like a walk in the park otherwise!

You made me laugh about having something to talk to the dr about. Several years ago, my DH had a hemorroid the size of a large grape and it had to be lanced. When we went to the surgeons office, my DH, *ss in air, was talking to the dr about a truck he was going to buy and my DH was trying to get him to go through him for the loan. I think the dr actually wound up using my DH as his lender.

OMG! That is gross! But glad he got it taken care of! See what I mean...if you can talk about something, it really does help to ease the seriousness of the situation!

One day, this particular cardiologist was having a bad day, and got called in on a Saturday morning to see a pregnant patient we had that needed a cardiac consultation. He wasn't too happy about it either...anyway...he came in and was demanding this and that, not realizing that I knew a little about him from what my DH had told me...and I went up to him and said "alright Dr. XXX, don't be giving my nurses a hard time!" Then I introduced myself, and he turned into a teddy bear!

(I was thanked later by several nurses!)
