Hey all! We're finally here! We've adjusted pretty quickly to the new schedule and are probably 5 pounds heavier already. We're staying at the AC Barcelona and we're right now waiting for our bags to be picked up to be brought to the ship! Yay!

We've started blogging the whole thing...we really want to keep up with it for the whole trip, it'd be nice to have a record of such a momentous vacation!

The blog is:

http://largelyignored.com/

and the Flickr set is:

We've got the following up so far:

Still to come: Our day at Disney Studios Paris, and our return home (which is written up, waiting to be transcribed from my notes).

I've got a ton of pictures to sort through, which will be my final task after I've finished all the recapping (they won't fade, but the memories will, unfortunately). I'll add in pictures to the posts that don't already have them, so they can appear longer than they already do!

Please note: Some of the language is PG-13, so cover the kids' eyes (and maybe your own) when necessary.

Thank you so much for sharing your blog! I got online this evening hoping that someone on the cruise that sailed today would be posting or blogging.

Bon Voyage!

Love your posts and have truly enjoyed your blog. You are hysterical and a gifted writer. Thanks for sharing -- we are on the August 8th cruise and I am addicted to all of the blogs. Yours has been especially fun to read!

Thanks everyone! The kind words help me keep writing (along with my dedication to finally chronicling something properly)! I'm flattered by the compliments, keep 'em coming! :rolleyes1

I'm exhausted after the long day, so I've managed to upload all the photos, give each one a recap, and get started on the post before I started to fall asleep at the keyboard. I'll finish the recap tomorrow morning while Lisa takes forever to get ready and I'll post it then.

For now, enjoy the photos. There are a lot, because Segesta and Erice were stunningly beautiful. If you just want to go somewhere and soak in the countryside, take this excursion. You'll spend more time looking at the view than the sites you're supposed to be seeing.

You can see the pics here:

Newer pics are towards the bottom.

Thanks... Now I know what I saw a few weeks ago!!

Are we doing EZE ? ;)

Thanks again everyone for the kind words and for the comments on the blog. Knowing that someone's reading keeps me writing even when I'm fighting to stay awake doing it.

The trip has been wonderful so far, everything we wanted it to be and more. It has been exhausting, though. Every day seems longer and every night seems shorter as we progress, the excursions last decades and the time I have to write about it all seems like the blink of an eye.

Funnybunny921 - The internet is just as atrocious as it was for your cruise. It's an embarrassment to Disney as shoddy as it is, especially considering that they charge by the minute. We paid for 500 minutes ($150!) and here we are at the halfway point of the trip and they're almost all gone (I hope I've got enough to finish this!). I was originally posting the pics at their original quality but were forced to downgrade to 800x600. I've since stopped posting pics since the uploading cripples the already insanely slow internet so that I'm left staring at my screen, wasting time that could be spent writing. I've been dutifully setting up Flickr folders for each day, though, annotating the best for future upload, perhaps on a day that's particularly uneventful.

LoveMickey - Sorry to disappoint! I stated in my original post that parts of the material were PG-13 and I meant it. There's no finer exclamatory than the curse word and I don't shy away from it. You give a word power and you give someone power over you. That and it's fun to cuss. It's used sparingly throughout most of my recaps, so if that kind of thing bothers you, you best shy away.

Hygiene99 - Yes, we're doing Eze! Lisa's looking forward to this the most after seeing Samantha Brown's Passport to Europe featuring it. I imagine Eze is France's answer to Erice, but you'd know better than me.

mickeyfanmom - Yes, I've been having way too much fun but I've been dutiful in my writing! It's just the internet is so bad that when I'm done late at night I don't have the energy to sit for the half hour it takes just to get it uploaded.

Anyway, here's the new stuff:

Sorry about Rome, folks, the day was so monumental that I'll be writing about this one for a few days. Bear with me, please!

I'll try and have more pics up soon. Thanks again for all the nice comments!

Great Blog! I gave up trying to post pictures as the internet is truly horrid. It has been a wonderful cruise so far - so sad that it is almost over!
