Blog update: Zonta Pre-Loved Fashion Sale for Canberran Disers

Princesses are "irksome and insipid". I think I might just go find somewhere to live up to that reputation. ;)

What a great post! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

(And just remember.....some princesses grow up and become Queenies!! :lmao: Not that there's anything wrong with it. For the record - I love you queenie!)

Oh PIO - you know I mean THE Disney Princesses!! :goodvibes

Actually - I am willing to go back and edit the post to say something like "they, on occassion, demonstrate behaviours and use language which I interpret, within my own mental models, to be irksome and insipid in that moment"

after all - there's snow white - lives with 7 dwarves who own a gem mine - and that chick - not a scrap of jewellery but she does all their housework!

heaven forbid - you, PIO, are a valuable contributor to society :worship::worship:

(let the flaming begin - geez there is not little flame thrower emoticon!)

:rotfl2: I wasn't even flamin'. Just stirring the pot as I normally do. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

DO.NOT.CHANGE.A.WORD.OF.YOUR.POST!!!! :thumbsup2

:scratchin I wonder if Queenie is going to stop by??

I've never taken much notice of the Princesses...I don't think I have any photos with them...

I grew up a girlie girl with tomboy tendencies...then tomboy...then girl...
sort of...

Spent a few years where you wouldn't catch me dead in pink...

I think it's all a who ha about nothing...

Free Advertising for Disney and more merch to SELL!!!

I'm so glad I have a boy. We can ignore the princesses as well. :rotfl:

And what do you mean "pink"? I don't think I know the meaning of the word at all.....

:thumbsup2

Don't get me wrong...
I love Mulan and Belle...
But they aren't a 'typical' girlie girl princess now are they.
And THAT is something that annoys me. They get clumped all in one even though they aren't all the same. Rapunzel isn't like Snow White...

As for Minnie. It's all tongue in cheek...
come on...she's gorgeous...what else do you want?
It's not like Mickey makes her clean his house. They still have separate houses :lmao:

And as for Daisy...she spends all Donald's money ;)

And I thought I was stirring with my comments....:rotfl:

Keep digging Queenie. I might be able to fall down your pit all the way to Hong Kong instead of flying there. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

OK - slightly OT but what fairytale is Princess Tiarnee from?

My DD was never the princessy type so I am not up to speed on these things, but I think she has the prettiest dress and is the most beautiful (thats whats important isnt it:confused3)

Dont crush my dreams and tell me she is a nasty character :rotfl:

That's enough fun for me tonight. It was hot in the house last night and I think I only got a couple of hours sleep. Definitely sandman time for me. :cloud9:

Catch you guys sometime....we can do this again. :thumbsup2

I loved your blog post.

I have to admit, I am a princess and Minnie Mouse is my very favourite character, of all cartoon characters.

I see Minnie as the backbone of the Mickey and Minnie couple ;). Like a polititian, the big man upfront but the first lady in the background is really the one pulling the strings :rotfl: Minnie is Obama's Michelle, she is John Howards Janet, she is Kevin Rudds Therese :rotfl: Behind every great man is a great woman and that's Minnie Mouse :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Reporting for duty!!! :rolleyes1

Oh you guys!!

:lmao::worship::rotfl2:
popcorn::

I've always had it in for Minnie since my 'incident' with her at Cape May in 2009.
:rotfl2:
Oh dear....what did she do. :scratchin

I've been smacked in the head by Tigger's head twice now and bashed in the head by Dale.
But they are STILL my favourite characters other than Stichy boy :cheer2:

Totally agree with you about Minnie being THE girl behind the other mouse. Mickey?? I think is his name... :confused3

Seriously...have you NOT seen the promo videos???
Dang...
It has Scrooge, Donald, Daisy and the nephews all show up and Daisy spends the whole time dragging Donald around shopping :thumbsup2

I know Daisy isn't who was brought up by the OP (instead decided to pick on Minnie) but Daisy is an AWESOME role model for girls :woohoo:

Ok now please tell me Minnie isn't all those things they called her??? :snooty:

Should I mention the only shirt I picked up at the Disney store on the last trip was of the evil queen.....

What does that say about me....

Was I once Snow white and that life with the dwarfs led to Evil? :scratchin

ooooooooooooooooo
:stir:

Evil Queenie.......that has a nice ring to it.

I WONDER....are those PICTURES from the DREAM?

Go work on your TR! popcorn::

evil queen is my fave.

in fact, several CMs complimented me for my 'heartless' shirt & for liking her instead of the princesses... i just feel there's more of a story to the villains & they're more interesting than the princesses... plus... the princesses make me want to go smack something as no one is perfect & smiley & gracious all the time and i find it an unrealistic role model for women... qualities to aspire to, sure, but all the time??? no.

i'm all for a HEA, but can we get a little realism in there? no..? oh well.

Oh wow - I've come back tonight and seen all the chat. Someone had a bucket of popcorn - and I feel a bit like that!

You know - 1993 I really wanted to see Daisy cause she was so rare.

But now she's common (insert unflattering saying here) :rolleyes1

At the F&W they had these huge displays in the Epcot garden beds - one of which was, inexplicably, Daisy shopping with a huge amount of packages she was forcing Donald to carry. I am still not sure what it had to do with F&W but at least it was a consistent portrayal of her character. :rotfl:

Nope - you haven't convinced me about Minnie - but I will stand up for her after what I consider to be the shabby t-shirt treatment she copped from the t-shirt powers that be! (if only there was a super hero smiley to use here)

Of course we wouldn't have the villains without the hapless heroes and damsels in distress.....
