I’ve always had a love for British faire and tradition. Some 18 years ago, I traveled across the pond for a wonderful stay in London and have been craving a second visit since then. In order to tame my longing for what would be a very expensive trip, I’ve embraced aspects of the culture and made them a regular part of my daily life. This includes becoming a bit of a connoisseur of fresh tea. It only made sense then to visit the Garden View Tea Roomat Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for an experience that was practically perfect in every way.

Very nice, and brought back great memories of some awesome splurges I've given myself there in the past. This room is spectacular, and I love their beautiful service, although I believe the pattern may have changed over the years.

Secondly, the Grand Floridian looks SO CLASSY - my god.

It is spectacularly beautiful, I have to say that. However, the one thing I liked is that even though yes - some people were dressed up there, or even nicer sundresses, there were also people in theme park attire, and nobody batted an eye. I don't remember if I ever wore a t-shirt there, but since i never wear shorts, I can promise you the "nicest" attire I ever wore there was knit pants and tunic top, with probably sneakers (if not Crocs, which I used to wear). And I never felt more out of place than I do anywhere else @ the Grand (have posted about that being more about ME before, not how I was ever treated by any CM's there!)

Although I feel I need to admit my dirty little secret.. (Big sigh).. Here goes. I am a Brit who hates tea (it's just awful).

And I know by admitting this I will need to return my Brit card and I bring dishonour to my family..

But saying that I can definitely get on board with the serving of fizz with a high tea.

Not having Rosa is the reason that this experience was practically perfect instead of absolutely perfect!!!

I embrace Afternoon Tea wholeheartedly!

Here in Sweden it's not so common, even though we are not that far away from good old England. But I usually take my cuppa (as the British call it) when I come home from work, with a small sandwich or cookies.

It's a very nice way to unwind after a long day.

More and more restaurants and cafés here are starting to offer proper Afternoon Tea now days, but it's by far not like the proper English way!

And definitely not even close to The Grand Floridian Afternoon Tea service.

Don't worry that is perfect... There is no set dress code. Many people do get fancy but there is no rule.. I am cumfy in a sun dress so that is what I wore.

Nope, you'll be fine, Cindy. If you notice in my post above, I have gone definitely wearing knit pants and tunic, and sneakers, if not a t-shirt, and was totally fine.

I love tea at the GF, I do it every trip and I go twice a year. My mama and I used to play grown up once a month and have tea and cookies in the living room. My brother's weren't allowed in the room, we would get dressed up and wear our Sunday go to meeting clothes. Some years it was just tea and store bought cookies and some years Mama would go all out and bake cakes and make little sandwiches. I was able to go to GF once with her before she died, my son was about 10 and he decided he didn't want no crumpets and went to the arcade instead. He now loves to go with me. It is actually the only ADR I make in advance, all the others I make morning of or on the fly in the parks. I learned the hard way you can't do that with tea. I'll be there in Sept. and yes, I already have my ADR. I get the bubbly with mine too, cause why not. Nikki - last time we were there in March they brought every thing out at once instead of doing it in courses. Do they still do that? I prefer the courses, I don't like having all that food piled up on the table in front of me.
