We are FINALLY getting some snow. We are officially in a blizzard warning. It sure looks pretty in town but I am glad I don't have to drive in the country anywhere! Under all the lovely snow, however, is the 2" of rain we had last night and this morning.

I am glad it isn't this bad here though.

According to news reports the city is without power. They are setting up shelters with I am guessing generators so people don't freeze without heat.

A picture of the rain/snow coated trees-they can't handle the weight.

WHere in MN are you? The weather is SO jacked up today. It was so rainy and cloudy this morning, then sunny and 50' (ON NOVEMBER 28TH!!!!), and I hear there were tornado watches in We. Wisconsin. It's pretty gloomy out again, though. Hoping for a massive storm that shuts down work tomorrow, LOL

SW MN. It is 22 degrees here now. We had the rain all last night and until about 9:30 this morning (we got 2" of rain) then it started turning over to snow about then. The kids made a snowman at about 1:00 and their tracks are already covered up with more snow 2 hours later. The wind is really picking up even in town here so I can imagine how bad it is outside of town with nothing to block the wind.

South Central MN and nothing but drizzly rain here right now. I have to make a quick trip out of town after work so hopefully anything will hold off til I get home.

darn I hope the blizzard stays away from the twin cities metro! I just got home from seeing a movie with my dad and my car said it was 55 outside...that is a temp I can live with.

I'm in Sioux Falls, SD...and thankfully it isn't us that is out of power, but if you travel west and north of here a lot of smaller communities are without power. Mitchell is about an hour west and according to the news like 70% of the town is without power and they are talking that it could be days before it gets up again!

It is snowing hard and blowing...and we got rain all day yesterday and last night so I'm sure there is a nice sheet of ice under everything...Thank God DH drove me to work today!

I admit I am jealous. It is rain, rain and more rain down here in Florida. Not even cool temps. :(

I knew it was going to be bad when I saw that the Sioux Falls schools were closed, they never close. We lived there for a couple years and they closed once, maybe, the time we were there.

I was looking at the radar and I saw a big blob of blue over MN. I wonder what direction it is going. I hope it drifts north.

Would you all mind keeping all that bad weather there please?

You want to send some of that snow to us in Canada it was 14 degrees celcius today with rain it is damn near Dec I want the white stuff.

A little envious here. We had a tease of snow on Thanksgiving, but it was washed away by noon from the rain. I love the thought of just all the snow and enjoying a day off. Rhode Island is great about shutting down the state with the first sign of a blizzard. :cold:

The only thing I don't like is that my lights keep flickering! We don't have a fireplace so if the electricity goes out, we are going to get a little cold. We have some friends that will let us come over, though.

We are supposed to get 4 more inches of snow tonight with 40-50 mph winds. We haven't had a really good blizzard in YEARS!!!

I hope you are not sending it the way of Michigan. We have a busy mid/end of the week that I would like to do. Maybe a Blizzard here in W. MI after Sat.

They are already calling off school all over Central and Eastern SD for tomorrow... I was really surprised Sioux Falls was called today and the way it is still snowing and blowing right now I might be surprised again tomorrow. The kids were loving it until they heard they will have to make it up :rotfl:

Well you know the weather is bad when Perkin's closes for the evening. I wish I could play a video of the WIND. It is just howling. Our school is still on but there is no way they will be able to start on time. Our city engineer doesn't believe in plowing the roads anytime other then between 8 and 4 so none of the roads will be plowed. The country roads are a mess. The state patrol is advising NO TRAVEL so the buses won't be able to get anywhere. Our superintendent always waits until the last possible second to call school. There were a couple times last year when DS was already AT school for early morning jazz band practice and they called a 2 hour late start. Not that I would want that job but he HAS to know that the jr and sr high have jazz band before school, some of the kids get picked up by the bus at 6:45, you can't wait until 7:30 to call school!

Sleepy Mom-what kind of dog is that in your picture?

Cool--2 hour late start tomorrow so at least we know we can sleep in!
