I cant decide do I want to go to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. This our first time going to a water park.

Any suggestions?

I like Typhoon Lagoon's theming better, and overall nicer park...but the wait times seem to be better at Blizzard Beach...crowds are much better dispersed.

We are a family with 3 girls and they all enjoy BB more than TL. BB has more water rides. They are both fun. TL has a great wave pool where you can even learn how to surf early in the AM for a price. Just go early to avoid the crowds where ever you go.

BB get my vote. The family raft ride is way better and the ski chair lift is also my fav. TL has an awesome wave pool and swimming with the sharks is cool but the rides are not quite as good. For either park get there early. We do both so we don't have to make this decision. LOL

Typhoon Lagoon:
Lots of Shade
Tamer Slides
8 Foot Wave Pool
Swimming with SHarks
More Relaxing
Island Resort Theming
Tropical Birds

Blizzard Beach:
Mega Slides
Less Shade
Ice Cave (part of the lazy river)
Ice Gator appearances
Bobbing Wave Pool (which is a bit more relaxing than TL)
The Ski Lift
Less Relaxing
Ski Resort Theming

It really comes down to whether you want relaxing or thrilling. If you want relazing, I'd go with TL. If you want thrilling, BB is the place to be. Get there early though, especially BB cause it fills up quick on hot days...

The following is a copy and paste from a few weeks ago. The origional comparison was done a yr ago......

Here's a copy and paste of a comparison I did about a yr ago.
Many will tell you the TL is more family friendly and that BB is only for thrill seakers. I'm shocked that so far everyone said BB. That isn't the norm when this question is asked. Before anyone says that BB is only for thirll seakers let me say that BB has more thrilling slides but that does not mean it doesn't have family or kids slides. In fact it out numbers TL in those areas too.

bold= slightly agressive

Blizzard Beach....

Melt A way Bay (wave pool)
Cross Crountry Creek (lazy river)
Slush Gusher (48in+)
Teamboat springs
Toboggan racers
Snow stormers
Runoff rapids
Downhill double dipper (48in+, 25 miles per hour)
Ski patrol camp (contains at least 4 slides/activities)
Tikes Peak, several slides and a play area

and one very agressive slide ... summit plummet

Typhoon Lagoon ....
Surf Pool ( wave pool)
Castaway Creek (lazy river)
Gang Plank falls
Keelhaul falls
Mayday falls
Storm sliders (30+miles per hour )
Shark reef (must be a good swimmer, and be able to snorkel across constantly moving without kicking)
Ketchakiddee creek ... several small childrens activities (bored my DD silly at 2 1/2)

one very agressive slide ... humunga Kowabunga (30+ miles per hour, 48+ in to ride)

Thanks for the info guys and gals! I think me and my family(me my mom and dad I am 12 yrs old) are going to go to BB :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

This question gets asked over and over. It's a good question without a definite answer. They are both a lot of fun and are geared to the same people. If you are staying on-site and can only visit one of them, here is how you decide: whatever bus shows up first, go that water park. It's that simple.

:D

Both are great parks. Blizzard Beach is my favorite because there's more to do and I think the theming is cool. Typhoon Lagoon is great, too, but it's a little more laid back. The shark reef is fun to swim in though.

My kids really want to go to BB because it looks so cool! But, none of us like thrill water rides. We prefer the slow kind. Will there be enough for us at BB? We are going in June. About how many hours should we plan on spending? Thanks.

You're in a win-win situation. No matter which you choose, you are going to have a lot of fun. :teeth:

My choice is Typhoon Lagoon. My kids are a little younger and seem to like it the best. If you go there in the summer, be sure to be at the water park early when they open the gates. Last summer they seemed to reach capacity rather quickly and then were closed to newcomers. :sunny:

my families vote is for TL, we find BB just too white, with the snow theme, the glare is horrible. At either place you will have fun, after all it is WDW!!!

It all depends on what you are looking. When my DH and I go alone, we prefer TL. We love the setting at TL and the snow theme at BB does nothing for us. Being from New England we see enough snow all year round and go to Florida to get away from it!! However when our kids (now 20 and 23) have gone with us, they prefer BB for the rides. The family ride at BB is much better than the one at TL, but I prefer the lazy river at TL more than the one at BB. TL is more secluded and we really feel like we are on a tropical island.

We prefer TL. The wave pool is great. I felt cold all the time at BB because of the suggestion of all that snow. Maybe that would be good in the heat of the summer, but we were there the end of Oct.

This is a little off topic but does anyone know if you have to pay for parking at either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon? Thanks!
