At Blizzard Beach, do they only let you ride the chairlift up to the top of the mountain, or can you also ride it down?

Just wondering why you would ride it up if you didn't intend to go on one of the rides?? There isn't anything else up there to do. :confused3

But no, I don't know if they will let you ride it down - I have never seen anyone do that.

For those people that don't want to do those particular water slides, and just want to do the chairlift and admire the scenery.

yeah i dont think you can ride it down. especially there because unlike a real chairlift the safety bar rises by itself and might be automatically open the whole way down

There is a GREAT view from up there. Last year we arrived at the top to find out that Teamboat Springs was not running. I walked down and DH took a slide.
You can not ride it down.

Not sure that that is true. Will get back to you on this. I have been told that I absolutely need to ride to the top of the mountain by someone that works there. They know I cannot ride down the slides. He didn't say I would have to walk back down. LOL They have also told me they have told people in wheel chairs who have complained that there was nothing they could do-even though it is the only park in the US that you can ride slides without climbing steps- that they could go up the mountain in their chairs and just see the view of WDW from up there and not go down the slides.

When DD was younger, she really wanted to go up the chairlift, but didn't want to go down any of the slides, so I asked if we could take a "round-trip". We were told no, but we were free to go up in the chairlift and walk down. :) So DD & I did just that, while DH took one of the slides.

That same trip, we did witness one of the CM's ask a disabled boy if he would like them to stop the lift to allow him to get into the chair.

This was a few years ago though, and as we all know, things can change. ;)
