DAY FIVE: HOOP DE DOO
We slept in and it seemed to do everyone a world of good. We had PS for the 5:00 Hoop De Doo Revue today, so we decided to spend a little time at the Magic Kingdom first. We ate some of our room food we had purchased and were on our way. We rode the Aladdins Carpet ride and saw Aladdin & Genie, as well as Rakiki & Timon. Then we headed over to Goofys Country Jamboree where the kids were thrilled to see Jessie & Woody & get to dance with them. Taylor was able to stand right beside Jessie what an honor. Ds & I did the Tiki Room dd was scared to go in. Then it was time to head for Fort Wilderness. As we were exiting the park, the kids visited with Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, and another character whose name escapes me right now.
We took the boat to Fort Wilderness. We all enjoyed the Hoop De Doo Revue. I wasnt sure the kids, ages 3 & 5 would like it, but they laughed & laughed. The food was good I loved the salad, dd ate 3 pieces of bread, ds loved the corn, and we all liked the ribs and chicken. We had a table right down front as we had booked months in advance.
We left the HDDR and headed back to the Magic Kingdom. We took the train to Tomorrowland and rode Buzz Lightyear twice in a row. Then it was time for the fireworks. Tink didnt make her flight this night as it was quite breezy. It was so beautiful with the castle changing colors and the fireworks. I became tearful. You see, for years I had dreamed of taking a family of my own to WDW. My husband & I went thru many painful years of infertility before being blessed (by adoption) with our two little ones. I told my husband to look at us there with these two wonderful little ones, our children, standing at WDW with fireworks overhead and to think about how good our life is. We are so blessed.
After the fireworks, we took our time leaving the park, taking pics of the castle in each color. Then we headed back to our room. We decided to try out the dig site pool. The kids tried the kiddie pool first it was freezing. Very surprising for a kiddie pool. So we all went in the big pool. It was very nice. The kids also tried out the play area sandbox, slides, jungle gym. One word of warning, wet kids will FLY down those little slides at the jungle gym. I figured they wouldnt slide well after just getting out of the pool. Boy was I wrong. Dd came flying down and landed about 4 feet from the end of the slide with a big thud. She was okay, but she didnt want to do the slide again. Then back to the room and to bed.
