Blank emails??

In the past hour, I've received two totally blank emails. Nothing in the sender line, nothing in the subject line, nothing in the email.

I deleted both of them immediately, but I'm starting to wonder what the heck they are?

Anyone else ever have this happen?

(btw, I have an iMac OSX)

Possibly some sort of weird phishing scam. Don't reply, just delete.

Usually whenever I get an email that doesn't pass my 'smell' test, I enable the headers. It's amazing how many "eBay" and "BankAmerica" and "PayPal" emails are actually from some .fr/.de/.ru/.br/etc address.

Blank emails, that's a new one to me though...

I always wonder if there is some hidden code in them that releases something to your computer when you open them.

are they from gmail / google addresses ?

i have a gmail addy and have been having trouble sending some emails. people get them blank.

"rich text editor" claims to be the error.

i googled it / seems others are having some issues too. they don't know how to fix yet.

if you know who it's from / just let them know.

if this is from someone you don't recognize, best to hit delete and not even open.

I've seen that happen a few times with the Mac Mail app. You can see the actual transmitted text by clicking View => Message => Raw Source, and when I did that I'd find it was badly formatted spam. Might be the same in your case. (Most mailers have that capability if you are using some other email application.)
