Blackouts dates from Nov 2010

Last year Disney offered free dining during the month of November. Can anyone remember what the blackout dates were? How close to Thanksgiving did they start? We went in 2009 and checked in on the Sat prior to Thanksgiving and were able to get free dining as the blackout date started on Sun.
We are hoping to go again this year and free dining would be a huge bonus.

Hi! We went Thanksgiving 2009 & 2010. We too arrived the Saturday before in 2009 and got free dining. However, last year the blackout for the general public pin started on the 11/18 which was the Thursday before. Thankfully, we did get a PIN code in the mail that covered our time....so not all hope is lost if the initial offering does not cover your time.

Good luck! We are taking a break from the Thanksgiving crowd this year and going in June!

They had alot of Free dining blackout dates in November of 2010...I think the entire first two weeks were blacked out (Veterans day plus food and wine at Epcot?), then there was a small window of FD-around the 13th through about a week before Thanksgiving, as I remember. There were general public discounts on room only, which we used. Would have preferred FD, but a discount of any kind is better than no discount at all!! Good Luck!

I think you are right. We were there the 9th thru the 16th. I believe free dining did not start until the 12th.
