Blackheart's Quest closed early, why? (if they knew they were closing VMK in May)

What was the point of closing this quest early and upsetting so many players if they knew they were closing the game in a few weeks? This is making no sense to me. It's not like those cheating would have gained anything for long.

I highly doubt us complaining closed VMK. We complain at them all the time. They had to have known about this for a month at least. If they didn't, why has all the rare been re-released? Inferno, greenflip hat, etc. I talked about it here.
