The insurance came through for DD's phone. She wants a Blackberry, mainly for BBM. Can anyone help with which Blackberry she should buy, please? It needs to be under £200. I have no idea about phones as when I get my mobile out, people openly laugh at it.:rotfl:

I have a Blackberry Curve and I'll be honest, I can't wait to get rid of it when my contract runs out in July! I've had so many problems with it due to it crashing and losing data, battery not charging/running low after an hour or turning on. It's had to be replaced 3 times. My brother has one too and he is onto his 2nd due to the same issues.

That said, my sister got a Blackberry Curve for Christmas, it's a newer Curve to mine and my brothers, and (touch wood) she hasn't had any issues with anything so far.

My boss's daughter just got a newer Curve also at the start of the year and hasn't had any issues.

It may just be the older phones that have the problems!

I have heard similar stories - people either hate them with a passion or think they are great. I think she is looking at the Curve 9300. :confused3

My sister has a 9360, mine and my brothers are 8530.

A girl I work with has a Blackberry Bold and constantly complains about her's having an 'egg timer' on her screen for ages before anything loads up, but again, this is an older model.

I have the Blackberry Storm and wish I had got something different - Ive had it over a year and constantly have problems with receiving/sending texts, sound, battery, screen not working, etc.

I have 2 (work and personal) a curve and a bold, Ive used Blackberrys for 4 years now....I have to admit im finally losing abit of patience with it and there lack of technology compared to say the HTC or the I phone.

I have noticed over the past year my BBM contacts have gone down from about 35 to 7 as everyone seems to be coming off the Blackberrys. But everyone now is using Whatssapp (A free programme simular to BBM, but can be used on both I phones & Blackberrys )...so id maybe talk to her about Whattsapp and phones that support that.

Anymore help, just ask!

Thanks Jordan. She want a Curve 9300, how do I find out if it supports Whatssapp?

I have the Curve 9300 and have Whatsapp.

Its very simple to get, you have the Blackberry Apps store, go into 'Chat & Social networking' (or something along those lines) and its a free download.

Its good because you can only use it with people who have your number, so your not going to get random people adding you, but it is a free way of communicating between Blackberrys, HTC & I Phones. Its the same as BBM in the way that you can see if the reciever has read your messege!

Brilliant. I'll order the Curve 9300 from Amazon tonight. Thanks for your advice.:flower3:
