We went to see Black Swan last night. From talking to friends and family, either they loved or hated it. I noticed that it was mostly the males that liked it. Not sure if that means anything but I actually enjoyed it.

I did leave the theater with a few unanswered questions. If you saw this movie, what did you think? Do you have any unanswered questions?

Apologies if there is another thread on thus topic. I went back a few pages last night and didn't see anything.

I'm not sure if I enjoyed it, per se, but I was still thinking about it a couple of days later, so it was worthwhile.

I think the guys liked it because of all the girl-on-girl and self satisfaction, lol.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing.

We liked it. I think NP did a fantastic job and deserves at least a nomination for her role.

My daughter is a freshman in college and she liked the movie. Her boy friend was embarrassed beyond words.

I liked it, although it was slightly different than what I thought it was going to be. I was also really impressed with natalie portman and I also was pleasantly surprised by Mila Kunis!

I didn't really like the whole mom relationship thing, I didn't really see the point of it, and the ************ scene was really uncomfortable haha!

My FB status, after I saw it yesterday, read something like this: "Saw Black Swan. Loooooooooooved it. Dark, demented, and brillant. Natalie Portman better go home with an Oscar."

I loved it in the sense that it was a well done and brillant film. I didn't love it in the sense that I necessarily want to see it again.

My DH didn't love it; he thought it was too symbolic and complex (he loved Hot Tub Time Machine - notice our different taste in movies? :rotfl:)

And, I was thankful I didn't invite my dad to go along with us to see it

I've been thinking about the film since!

We just got home from seeing it. Both my husband and I liked it a lot.

I liked it, didn't love it. Dark, way too much symbolism, the lesbian and hangnail scenes put me over the edge. I was impressed with NP's dancing ability but man, was she skinny!

Oh man, this picture was great! While it was uncomfortable in several scenes since I saw it with my mom, we both had lots to talk about after. I asked her if she'd mind tucking my in for bed :rotfl:. I just can't help thinking about what her mind had to do to make her performance perfect. She was amazing as the black swan!

On another note, was that Barbara Hershey as her mother ? I absolutely HATE her new teeth. I'm sick of all these stars getting BAD veneers/crowns on their teeth and trying so hard to make them look perfect. Sometimes it's okay to have imperfections, especially when you're known for your appearance.

Natalie was fantastic!

I thought the movie was creepy yet amazing. Great work on everyones part. The story was compelling and really left me hanging on the edge of my seat.

I could've done without the ************ scenes but knew the girl on girl action was going to happen so I prepard myself for that.

What I want to know is: did her mom actually take the doorknob off the door and did Natlie actually break her mom's hand, etc? It's clear Natalie was late to the performance and that her mom was in the audience, but I can't figure out the stuff before..

Overall, fantastic movie.

I loved Black Swan. I thought NP was fantastic in it. I closed my eyes during the skin peeling, hangnail, etc. - it was too much for me! I saw the movie in Chelsea, and we had a great audience. During the ************ scene when NP flipped over and saw her mother, one guy screamed with laughter and the whole audience busted out laughing; it was hysterical.

I saw this movie the other night and felt pretty much like most posters: very, very good acting, good story, but not sure I actually *enjoyed* it, if you know what I mean. In some parts, people in the audience were laughing, too, but because it was beyond ridiculous at times. I thought it was well done. Natalie Portman was very good in it, but I really felt myself cringing at times at her passiveness.:headache:

Good insight into the competitive world of ballet.

Just saw it. I had no idea what to expect. The girl had some real mental issues. The competitiveness of her part as the Swan queen pushed her over the "edge". A little to "descriptive" ;) in some parts.

I saw it yesterday afternoon, loved it! The theater was pretty full, a lot of older folks, so I was very curious how they handled some of the scenes, but it was too hard to gage their reactions. I did notice a lot of men jump up to get out quickly when it was over though. I want to see it again when it comes out on DVD, curious about all the symbols, skin changes, etc. I could not believe the mother was Barbara Hershey, she has really aged or they made her look that way. I always think of Barbara Hershey in Beaches. I agree NP is very skinny, but she was great. Hope she gets a golden globe for her performance tonight.
