Here are pictures of the kitchen in the house we are getting ready to move into. They are taking the fridge so we must replace it. They have black but I am thining that there is too much black in the kitchen already. Stainless would match the sink and a few other applicance I am bringing. What do you think??

The hard part is that every other appliance is black, unless you plan on changing the dishwasher and hood, I think I would have to stick with black. Do they have stainless refridgerator with black accents? Maybe that would be a happy medium?

I will have to look into that. I do believe that there are stainless ones with black. I tend to agree with you - but I really like the stainless.

Another vote for the black fridge here. All of my kitchen appliances are black - I even have a black cast iron sink. I think if you got one that is all stainless it would be a focal point, where the black one would blend in with the other appliances and whatever else you choose to do (like a valance for the window) could be in a pretty contrasting color that would really stand out.

I'd do stainless. I love mine and it has black sides that you can put magnets on.

I wouldn't go black because I couldn't easily see creepy crawlies on it!
I also have decided that my next kitchen will have flat fronted cupboard doors, with maybe a curved edge. I'm sick of getting a toothbrush into the intricate areas of the cupboard doors I have at the moment!
Your worktop to me seems perfect, because while it will show up creepy crawlies, crumbs will not be too obvious!
Yeah, I'd settle for your kitchen, just with s/steel as opposed to black.
Hope you're very happy in your new home :)

We bought a stainless when we built our new house to match the applainces and have been really pleased. We got it from Seards and it is stainless alll over and can hold magnets all over as well unlike some stainless products.

I didn't like black when it first came out and I ended up buying one!

I also liked the stainless, but DH did not, so we decided on black, just for something different than the plain old white for a change.

I love my Frigidaire Gallery series side-by-side, it looks similar to the one in your photo. I say stick with the black!

I also have a greenhouse window above my sink, just like in the photo!

We love our stainless, but it is harder to maintain (water marks - and don't try to put a magnet on it).

I'm voting with the black.

WE have stainless and I love them...they just look so sleek. The fridge does have black sides and a stainless front, the stove has a stainless front and black burners, dishwasher is stainless and black and the microwave is all stainless.....Our granite looks almost like the ones you have in the pictures too!

My vote is black, just because I like my appliances to match (my kitchen is really tiny though). I've heard black is easier to keep clean.

PS - Congrats on the new house!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc The kitchen looks gorgeous.

We just bought a Kenmore from Sears that is stainless with black handles and trim. I think it would look good in your kitchen. Have fun with the new house.:)

I would go with black. I want to change from my white appliances to black in the next couple years.

I would go with black. When we were looking at stoves last year, I really liked the stainless steel but the showroom models all were smudged and fingerprinted. I asked the sales rep about it and she admitted that they constantly wiped them down, but they just tend to show everything (and of course, people don't keep their hands off them). She said they RARELY have to wipe down the enamel appliances (white, black, almond, etc).

That was enough for me.

Thanks for all the replies. I am leaning toward the black - the easier to keep clean part is really appealing.

SandraM- that's the one thing I am worried about having black counters. Not being able to see creepy crawlies and such. We will see how it goes. Thanks again everyone!!

I can't see your pictures - but I don't think it would be odd at all to have one stainless appliance in your kitchen and the rest black..

our fridge/microhood/stove are all stainless...the dishwasher/coffee maker/toaster are all back.

yes, stainless does involve a bit more "work" to keep clean...but it's not all that bad. With me and DH, I think I clean them every other week (with the special stuff) and they look fine. (well - until my friend's girls come over, lick their hands, and "paint" on my fridge...GRRRRRR...took TWO MONTHS to get those marks off!) but, for me, it's worth it...I love the look.
