10% off Target GCs!

The details:

Quantities limited; no rain checks. Terms and conditions apply to gift cards. Purchases of Target GiftCards that exceed transaction limits may be voided.

FRIDAY ONLY! 6AM–12 NOON. • Target GiftCards purchased during offer may be redeemed beginning Saturday, Nov. 29. • Offer valid for up to $300 in Target GiftCard purchases per household.
I got this from the Target Black Friday Sneek Preview email that just arrived in my inbox. Not a bad deal if you're looking to buy Target GCs and convert them to Disney GCs.

Unless they've closed this loophole- you could use the target giftcards online but enter your redcard number then pay with the gift card to still receive the 5% red card discount

I imagine Discover will also give you an additional 5% like the RedCard? Unsure if GCs are an exclusion...

Where did you find the answer? Can you do it?

I went to the Target.com website. Added a Disney gift card then it gave me the option of paying with my Target gift card.

The promotion could have different restrictions, though.

Saw it, too. What about 5% pharmacy rewards? Probably not, since it's a Traget GC.:confused3 Maybe a few Target GC for gifts, then Disney GC here we come.:3dglasses

I used Target GC's this morning to buy Disney GC online and got the 5% off just this morning. I've used a Target GC to buy them at the store too, but you don't get an additional 5% off there like you do online.

I was just coming here to ask the same thing. Any Target employees out there with some insight perhaps?

DH works at target so I'll check with him but my inclination is:

They probably don't. They could notice the following cases though:

1) More then 300 on the same credit card account.
2) (and this is the one that is most likely to get voided if found) if an employee bought more then 300 espeically if other things were bought in the same transactions (so if DH bought 300 in one transaction with his lunch, and then bought a drink and got 300 more) so that his discount card was also scanned.

The reason is employees are the most likely to do this. I can say we will get 300 worth. We buy so much at target we are guarenteed to use them pretty quickly and that will just stack with our red card and employee discounts for some REALLY sweet deals.

Thanks for posting this. It sounds like a great deal. So here's my plan: My local Safeway is currently offering a coupon for $10 off a future shopping trip when you purchase $100 in MasterCard gift cards (through Dec 2). The deal can be used multiple times as long as you do separate transactions. Using my Amex Blue Cash Preferred card, which gives me 6% cash back at grocery stores, I end up saving 10% off the MasterCard GC (taking into account the $5.95 service fee that's charged on the MC GC). Then I'll take that $100 MC GC and buy $100 in Target GC's at 10% off on Black Friday. Finally, I'll use the $100 Target GC to buy Disney GC online, hopefully getting the 5% Red Card discount. This makes the final discount on the Disney GC to be 25% off, if my math is correct.

How would they keep track of you if you paid with cash? Or went to multiple stores? Minnesota has a Target on every street corner. Kinda of like Walgreens. On the phone with Target to find out if you can purchase gift cards with gift cards. Heard the lady in the background say it was denied when trying to purchase a Disney gift card. They weren't sure about iTunes, but other cards were a can't do it. The activation code seemed to be the key to no. I know Walgreens won't let you use their gift cards to buy gift cards.

I don't think there is a way to track it, honestly. It is simply to deter Mom, Dad, & Kid, from going through the line buying $300 each.

If you really want to go all out, that's one thing. Just don't make it blatantly obvious.

If they didn't say limit $300/household, trust me, you'd have the whole family in line. Or one person with multiple "separate purchases". That kind of thing. This just cuts a lot of that crap out.

This is an awesome deal if it all works out and the redcard discount online is still working! We leave Dec 9th for WDW. Do you guys think I still have time to buy the Target gift cards in store on BF. Then immediately turn around and order the Disney ones from Target.com?? I only need about another $300 so that works great for me ;)
