Black Friday Target GC Deal: In-store and Online!

Is this something they Have done before?

Are they any target GCs? Like, nice looking ones (not the cardboard one you get for buying something?). And it's in any denomination?

Could I get 30 $10 target cards if I choose? One for $300? Mix and match?

Even if I end up not using them for disney GCs it's still a good deal since I do most of my grocery shopping at Target.

When I called, I didn't ask about Disney GCs only. I lumped them in with Facebook, restaurant, Xbox, Google Play etc. I would hate to spend $300 in cash on a Target GC and be told my Disney GC purchase is declined. Now I'm stuck with a $300 GC for Target that would take me a while to go through.

I'm not sure I've seen this question asked/answered....

If you purchase $300 of Target Cards using your Target Red Card, do you get an addition 5% discount on top of the 10%?

Hmmmm...I need $400 in SWA gift cards to pay for our spring trip. I already used points to cover our flight to WDW, now I need to get us home. Saving $30 would be great! On top of that, I see that you can now get a $100 SWA gift card via e-mail on the Target website.

Let me try the math...

1) Buy a $300 Target GC (pay $270)
2) Add (3) $100 and (1) $50 card to my cart which, with my 5% RedCard default payment, will cost $332.50.
3) Use the $300 Target gift card and $32.50 on the RedCard which then makes my total OOP cost $302.50 for $350 in gift cards...which amounts to a 13% savings:dance3:!

Now, I have to keep my fingers crossed that our flight prices don't jump up too much in the interim:scared:.

I'm not sure. I'm guessing no, but I think that you can turn around and purchase Disney (or whatever) gift cards with the Target cards online and get the 5% off if you log in with your Red card. At least, that's what I've read. You can then go ahead and use the Target gift cards to pay, though I'm not sure what the limit is. You can't do this in the store (use a gc and still get the red card discount), only online.

Don't think it will quite work that way. Since you are paying $300 with your Target Gift Cards - you do not get the 5%. You only get the 5% on those items that are going on your Redcard. So, in this case you would only get the 5% on the extra $50.

But, I do believe when you are buying the Target Giftcards - you can use the Redcard then. So, you would get the 10% and 5% at at that time. So, $300 worth would cost you $256.50.

Sorry, no. You do not get 5% off Target giftcards by using your red card. Those $300 of cards will cost you $270, whether you pay by red card or any other way.

How do you still get a red card 5% discount for the disney cards, when you're not paying with the red card, cuz you're paying with the target gift cards?
Set your REDCard as your default form of payment. Go through the checkout process up to the point of confirming your purchase. It will take the 5% off in the column on the right. Underneath that column, in blue, are links for adding a promo code, another for employee discount and another for paying with a GC. Click on the "pay with a gift card" and it takes you back to the previous page where you can then enter the gift card code(s). The proceed with checkout as normal. The 5% REDCard discount remains but the money comes out of the gift card.

Really?? So, the 5% works on ITunes and other cards but not Target ones. Is that correct?

I did this last week but the system made me put SOMETHING on my red card. MEaning I had a 48.00 e certificate for target and used it and 2.00 on my red card to buy a 50.00 Disney card and it took 5% off the whole 50 but it made me put SOMETHING on the red card

That's odd.

I just ordered 6 (I don't know why it allowed that many) Disney GCs for a total amount of $285 and that entire amount was taken from my GC. Maybe it was because you didn't have enough on your GC to cover the $50? My GC was for more than $300, so maybe that's the difference.

Sears is in special at RAthis week - you can buy swa gift cars with Sears cards at kmart

RA = Rite Aid...buy $50 Sears Card get 10 +Up reward back...limit 2 per card/household -- I just bought $100 in Sears Giftcards and then took them to the Kmart down the street - They have SWA cards along with Amazon, panera, b&N, itunes, etc.

What forms of payment are accepted when purchasing Target gift cards? For example, can I purchase the $300 of Target gift cards using my Disney Visa credit card to get my 1% rewards? Or do they only accept debit or cash? I think I've been told at other stores that you can't use "credit" to purchase gift cards.

Thanks!
And, that's good to hear you had no problems using gift cards to buy gift cards at Kmart.

Interesting question. I typically buy my Target gift cards using my Target debit card (no 5% discount, just convenient). So I would think that means you could use a credit card for the Disney kickback but not sure. I know last month there was that awesome Office Depot/Sears "buy-a$100-card-for-$80 thing that required cash, but it was spelled out in the offer that cash was required for purchase.

My DH said that if he were to purchase gift cards that he gets the 5% off when he buys the cards. His employee discount however he only gets when he USES the cards (and not the 5% then becasue he isn't using the red card).
