I disagree. That player is cheap in more ways than one. It is a versions 1.1 and most BDs are already 2.0 so that particular $78 machine might not playmany newer Bluray discs, does not have any movie streaming options like Netflix, etc. and likely has a very, very slow load and response time.

Unless people want headaches they should avoid that $78 Walmart special and spend an extra $50 on a decent machine by LG, Samsung, Sharp, etc. from a different store - there are other good sales on much, much better quality machines.

Today I went with dd10 on a field trip to our local newspaper "plant". They were running various ads including some of the BF sales flyers. I, jokingly, said that we had noticed that they had some of the flyers labeled "turkey day" or something on their floor (we were on the floor above looking down into the main facility) and that I should get dd's camera, zoom in, and take a picture...laughing and joking!!!......He didn't think it was even the least bit funny....I'm surprised that I wasn't thrown out and banned!!!

I've heard that walmart will open at midnight, but their sales aren't until 5am. Does anyone know how that will work? Will we be able to get the sale items at midnight and have to wait until 5 am to checkout, or will the sale items not be out until 5 am? I'm trying to figure out my plan of attack =)

All the items will be out but are on pallets in the middle of the isles wraped in plastic. They will "release" the item at 5:00.

FYI guys, there will be new procedures implemented at all Wal-Marts this year. Many stores will be open Thanksgiving and open 24hrs. All Black Friday items will have specific lines that you must wait in to receive that item. Each store will have maps showing the location of all items. Each item will have several Associates assigned to it to handle distribution when the sale starts. This is Company wide (i.e. all stores). Hope this information helps.

In my neck of the woods Walmart, Target, and Meijer price match on regular days. However you have to have the printed sales flyer with the item. It has to be the exact item. None of them will match % off sales. I am not sure if their policy changes for BF. Oh, and Meijer will not price match grocery items.

In the past Meijer has price matched but looking at this year's ad, they have a statement saying that they will not honor other BF ads.

Target here has never price matched.

yeah and the 3rd generation 8 gig has no improvements over the 2nd generation so would be better off buying a 16 gig refurb from Apple for the same price.

Hello to all the budget minded out there! I've been reading and trying to keep up as much as possible. I have two quick questions for you guys.

For the 32GB iPod Touch at Target you get a $30 gift card. Target also has a special Black Friday that if you spend $100 you get a $10 gift card. Would this purchase be eligible for both? Also, do you know how this works at Target? Do they give out tickets outside the store when people are lined up or does everyone rush to the respective departments and grab on a first come, first served basis? I need to know what I'm up against!

In regards to the Old Navy promo and them giving away the LEGO Rock Band video game with a $20 purchase, I've been told it's a demo and not the real game. Does anyone know for sure? The ad I've seen on line is very hard to read the "fine print".

I'm in the Chicagoland area and I called 3 stores in my area, BE ADVISED that not all stores will even have the video game or open at 3am!! I spoke to a manager and she said that only the larger or "select" stores will be getting LR.

My closest ON in the mall will open at 4am and they will NOT have the game!!! I called the two other stores that she recommended and both will open at 3am, but only 1 told me that they will have LR and that he thought it was a demo. The other store didn't know if they would get LR.

I only knew to call because I read someone's post that not all stores were going to carry them on a forum on black friday gotta deal. I am not pleased with ON right not AT ALL.
