I am hoping that some place will have a deal on iPod Shuffles. I am debating on buying them now, or waiting and hoping for a deal on Black Friday. With 5 kids (two with Nov. b-days) I can't wait until the last minute to shop!

Does anyone know if there were any ipod shuffle deals last year? I am also hoping to get one this year.

I almost didn't get up before dawn to go shopping in 2005 but of course I couldn't resist and woke up and headed out with the rest of the bargain hunters. I am hoping to find some great deals this year.

who out there knows FOR SURE last year that door buster items were available for purchase online at the same time?? not you heard, etc. what did you PURCHASE online and get at doorbuster prices......my sil and i got the fisher price sets from wally world for $10 each last year....

I know the cheap laptops best buy had on sale last year were available for purchase on their website on thanksgiving day. My sister wanted one and decided to look online just at what it came with and it was already for sale for the doorbuster price. She bought it online and got free shipping!

Can I price match Black Friday items?

Walmart price matches exact items and prices. They wont price match percentages off like, all electronics 40% off, they wont match that.

Target does not price match.

I haven't seen any leaks yet for BF. I've been watching gottadeal.com though. I'm thinking it will still probably be another couple of weeks though.

My sister and I go every year. DH has been known to go too. He's a good cart watcher. He'll get a cart, park it, and we do the running for items. Also, he drops us off at doors and then spends the 15 minutes finding parking. However, he doesn't go every year, for him it all depends on if he "feels like it".

We hit All the stores we can. We usually do Walmart, Target, and TRU. Get something to eat then head to the mall. This will be our first year w/ a Best Buy in the area. We try to get to Walmart about 30-40 minutes before opening. However, we've only waited in line a handful of times. This last year the windchill was too brutal to even try it. We had a blizzard watch for Thanksgiving and early BF--- w/ really high winds and really low temps. So, we had to wait in the car. We still got all but the Gameboy's we wanted.

So what do you all do with your kids while you shop? I have a dh that works on black friday - but he doesn't have to be until 9= so I can be at stores at 5 and still get a good 3-4 hours of shopping in before he has to leave. But those of you that go DH and you- who watches the kids- relatives sleeping over? I am not sure if the deals are worth that :lmao:

Our boys spend the night with Gram and decorate the Christmas Tree the next day. Have been doing this for, well 13 or 14 years now. :thumbsup2

I love Black Friday!!

My husband goes with me and last year, I even got one of my sisters to go as well.

I can't wait!!!

I always left my youngest son with his granny and my oldest son goes with me. He loves it!!!! He knows the ads and makes the game plan for us. Sometimes we go to the mall first and sometimes we go to Walmart or kmart first. We do our shopping and then have lunch and go home and take a nap!

I just received an email from gottadeal.com that they are up and running for 2006 :thumbsup2 ... I have not checked it out yet - I thought I would share with you guys first!! :cheer2:

Hi black Friday buddies :) Just wanted to mention that I am in a desperate search for the Power Wheels Kawasaki dirt bike. It is green and about 4 years old. It is still listed on Fisher Price's website as a current model, but I cannot find it anywhere except on ebay and pretty much everyone says LOCAL PICK UP ONLY or one guy was charging $213 shipping!!!!!!!!!!!! What a crock LOL Anyway, I thought I'd throw that out here in case anyone knew of where I could find it. Thanks so much :)

We got out but really only for the Mickey Snowglobe at JcPenny and any other "freebies" that we can find. Unfortunetly those are very few these days.

We also hit Penny's first for the snowglobe! Gotta have your priorities straight! LOL

My DS24 goes with me and we got two of the snowglobes! I have been going for the last 20 years and it seems to get more dangerous every year! Last year a lady got knocked down and her wig came off and people were stepping on her and she laid there and put her wig back on and then got up out of the doorway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We will still go but I am very careful not to wear wigs!!!!!

This made milk come out my nose. Thanks a lot! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

(The comment about your not wearing wigs, not the part about the old lady getting knocked down. ;) )

Nope! I was looking for one last year, and everyone had the exact same price, down to the penny. After lots of research I ended up buying a different brand. I was paying too much for the ipod name.

My BF Strategy...

Forget about any of the early morning sales where you have to stand for hours in the cold.

Go to Walmart about 9am with list and flyers for price matching. The store will be the emptiest of the entire year. All the early birds have left, and everyone else is avoiding the crowds! Pick up all of Walmarts deals that interest me, and then have them price match the items from Target, etc. My local Walmart will even price match stores from the next town over.

My second BF shopping trip will be back to Walmart about a week later. They typically have leftovers of many of their doorbusters. So what was on sale for $10 on Friday morning might be only $6 a week later! I find it easiest to buy them again, and then return with the older receipt.

Two trips to Walmart, and a quick return usually takes me about 2 hours total in time.
