Hi all-

We're having "engagements" photos done on Saturday... cracks me up since we've been married for well over a year and I won't have my ring (being cleaned and the scratches removed from the band). They're being done at Picture People. I've always had great luck with them and have won photograph competitions in pageant with their work. Right now, the convenience is a premium as we've just kind of put them off and put them off. With everything going on with family, if they aren't done in a mall setting, they're not going to get done!

But, we're a little cynical about the idea of having bright colored engagement phots. What would you do? Black and white or color? We're framing them in these frames for family as gifts (they are our china pattern). I really like the look of the black and white in them. Opinions?

My only gripe with Lenox: It's manufactured in Lawrenceville, New Jersey... the home of our arch-rival from high school! :rotfl:

OK, call me crazy, but why do you have to choose now? I assume they shoot digitally, in which case the pics can be manipulated into black and white after the fact, if you so choose. I think it depends on the picture...I think both black and white and color would look wonderful with that frame.

i would do them in color. you can always scan & change them on your own to black & white.

Don't knock Lawrenceville, haha. Anyway, I would have to agree with twojo21 and Snow_White. Have them done in color, and if you decided later that you want black and white, you could take it somewhere like CVS or Walmart to get printed. Also something to consider if you're handy with photo software, you could make the pictures black and white and then edit them for color. Not a good explination but- If you have bright blue eyes and your husband has green (or whatever), make everything black and white but your eyes. Remarkable effect, and it stands out just enough.

I have the 5x7 frame in that lenox pattern. We have a color photo in it, and I think it looks beautiful. If you wear muted colors for your engagement shoot, I think either black & white or color would be fine. If you are wearing hot pink, that might be another story ;)

As long as it's the school since they were one of our rivals as well, not like my school gave anyone a run for their money in anything other than football my junior/senior year. But gotta love being able to take back roads to get anywhere in Mercer by cutting through Lawrenceville.

By the way, how is your nephew doing?

Like Helen said, if your wearing subtle colours i think it will look beautiful! However it might be best to see how they look before you decide if possible - it all depends on the picture!
