I apologize for posting this a little tardy, in hindsight I realize I should post this on Tuesday evening and will do so from now on.

It is with pleasure that I give you the 2nd Team Weekly Challenge…this one focusing on exercise! Last week we focused on what we are putting in our mouth, how we are fueling our bodies. This week we are focusing on how we are burning off the stored energy we have (in the form of body fat)!


Here is how it works; below you see a list of ‘tasks’. For the next 7 days you are challenged to complete as many ‘tasks’ as you can. Each one is valued at 5 pts each. During the 7 days of the challenge, keep record of a completed task and at the end of the week turn in your final total score to your team captain, or designated teammate. For example, task #1 -- Write down an exercise plan for the week… --- this is a one time task and you must complete it entirely to award yourself 5 pts. However, task #2 – Spend 10 minutes stretching after 2 workouts this week– is possible to complete this task more than once. Tasks that can be completed multiple times are marked with an ***

This challenge is on your honor system, be accurate and honest with the points you award yourself. After all, if you cheat you are only cheating yourself from forming healthy exercising habits :teeth: ::yes::

TASKS:

  • Write down an exercise plan for the week -- put the times on your calendar, treat it like a scheduled appointment. Share your plan with your team in your weekly thread -- MAX 5 pts

  • Spend 10 minutes stretching after 2 workouts this week ***
    worth 5 pts after your 2nd session of 10 minutes of stretching; multiples most be completed in sets of 2 (4 times = 10 pts; 6 times = 15 pts, 8 times = 20 pts)

  • Add 10 minutes to your cardio workouts 2 times this week ***
    worth 5 pts after your 2nd session of an additional 10 minutes on your routine cardio sessions; multiples most be completed in sets of 2 (4 times = 10 pts; 6 times = 15 pts, 8 times = 20 pts)

  • Complete 2 vigorous workouts that are at least 20 minutes each ***
    worth 5 pts after your 2nd vigorous workout; multiples most be completed in sets of 2 (4 times = 10 pts; 6 times = 15 pts, 8 times = 20 pts)

This challenge is meant to motivate you...not to stress you! :thumbsup2 You may choose to complete one or two of the tasks, or all of them. Let this challenge be want you need it to be.....to CHALLENGE YOU!

The challenge begins on Wednesday Sept 26 at 12:01 a.m. and ends on Tuesday October 2nd at midnight. Your final score must be reported in by Wednesday October 3rd at 3 p.m. EST in order to be included in the team score. Team captains will report in to each team and report the final results in their weekly team thread on Wednesday (Oct 3) evening.

Wanna know what you’re playing for?? The winning team earns bragging rights and the right to include a clippie of such in their signature until the completion of the next team challenge.

Suggestion – print out the task list and keep it handy to mark off each time you complete one for easy and accurate record

The winning team from the first team challenge will be announced later today once the captains have a chance to tally and add scores. I hope you all enjoyed the first challenge and started incorporating some new healthy habits into your routine :cheer2: :cheer2:
 
So, does 10 minutes of yoga or pilates after your workout count as stretching?
 

Just to make sure I'm computing correctly:

IF (oops, I mean when) I do 10 minutes of stretching after six workouts, that would be 15 points, right? 5 pts for each group of two.

Glad I got on the DIS tonight, so I can start NOW!

note: challenge updated with hopefully more clarity -- please post any questions here and either myself or one of the team captains will answer!!
 
I have a question - my workout is curves and we do stretching after working out. Does that count as extra stretching? ( Its not 10 min worth I don't think but I can check on that )

Also adding cardio - while I can't add another round to my workout ( if I add a 10 min walk later in the day does that count)
