Welcome to week 10. At the conclusion of this week we will be 2/3 through our challenge. Hard to believe isn't it?

Today is weigh in day. Please report your weight by tonight Tuesday midnight EST. Weekly challenge points are not due until Thursday at 3 PM EST. The challenge runs until midnight tomorrow Wednesday, so keep racking up those points. And remember EVERY POINT COUNTS! We need YOU to help win this challenge.

Red Team question of the day

Some questions sure invoke more response that others. Today is a silly one. What are you wearing on your feet right now?

Me first. It is early and I am up making lunches and putting 3 gallons of ice and water into the water jug for the day for my guys. It is cold outside but toasty inside and I am bare footed. I am in my pjs and as soon as the guys leave I will be crawling back into bed. I was up late watching TV and I need to get some rest so I can accomplish many things today. I have several projects that I have been putting off for a while. I have been worrying incessantly about them and it is stressing me out. I am tired of feeling miserable about this and I will get the projects done today.

Michelle, I did not walk yesterday and I did not exercise. I am not off to a good start trying to develop a habit of walking around the block. You are a busy mom and you manage to make time for this, I should be able to too. It looks like a rainy day here today so I'm not sure what I will be able to get accomplished. I will either walk or exercise before lunch, that way it will be done for the day.

ohMom asked us to evaluate the participation on our teams. The Red Team is now down to 26 members. We have lost 14 members. Wow that is over 1/3 of our original team. I am grateful to those that are still left and hope we can all stick out this challenge and find success in our remaining 6 weeks. So far we have had one net gain for our Biggest Loser challenge. I know she is trying and I hope her loss is coming. Everyone else has lost. Here's the breakdown:
1-3 pounds lost 7
4-6 pounds lost 5
7-9 pounds lost 5
10-12 pounds lost 4
13-15 pounds lost 1
16-18 pounds lost 3

Are you where you want to be with this challenge? Is there anything the Red Team can do to help you? After the week 10 weigh in I will post the Red Team Biggest Losers for the first 2/3 of our challenge. Will your name be there? What can you do to get it there?

So Red Team whazzup with you today? Stop in and say. Usually folks like to stop by on weigh in day and I love it. Share your progress and remember there is no need to apologize. This is a difficult journey we are on. Not every single week will be great. It is important to just keep doing what we need to do to achieve our weight loss goals. I know you can do it Red Team, Keep up the good work and never give up!

Have a healthy day!

Question of the day- I have pink fuzzy socks on because my feet are freezing. It is so cold here and today it is going to snow with high winds. I really hate this weather.

I am no where near where I would like to be for the challenge. I am having a problem with losing the weight. Since I had my last dd I have never felt good. I am always dead tired and have no motivation. I was dx with low thyroid and nothing has helped. I am now looking into Wlilsons Temp Syndrome. I have almost all the signs. The main thing is that my temperature is always low, like 96.4. I have found a doctor around here that treats this and I am calling today to get an apt. I really hope that I can get answers because I am always tired and I am now tired of being tired.

Nancy congratulations on the new job. Let us know how today goes. Sounds like a good first day.

Morning Red Team! I lost another pound! Yay! I think I've lost a total of 3.4 pounds during the challenge, which may not sound like a lot, but it's a lot for me!

Question of the Day: What are you wearing on your feet right now??
I'm wearing brown suede heels. One of my least favorite things about fall/winter is that I can't wear open toed shoes!

Here's to another great week, Red Team!!! :cheer2:

Hey Brenda, thanks for keeping the red team going here.

Wazzup with me today? Well I'm about to start a day of running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Plus it's raining here so no walk for me unless I can find a time it slows down.

I've been walking about 1.8 miles a day (it takes me about a half hour). Yesterday I grabbed some 2 pound weights to add on to that. I figure if it's dark and someone grabs me at least it will hurt if I hit them. LOL I would really like to start running in another 15 pounds or so.

Also I just wanted to say that for each person that dropped out I am sure that the challenge has helped someone. I know it helps me especially with my food choices on Mondays LOL. I wanted to start getting in shape after the kids went back to school since they are in middle school and go to school early. The timing of this biggest loser challenge really was perfect in that regard and it is helping me to stay focused especially with the nutritional part.

<---------a barefoot maintainer here, checking in.

I am NOWHERE near where I want to be for this challenge. Weeks, and weeks of no change. Now I know if I hadn't been patying attention part of the time, I would have been gaining weight, so I'm glad that trend has stopped! I have to focus back on 'the basics', water, walking and NO SUGAR and stop worrying about everything else. Just a week of getting that part organized/under control has got to help, right?

I'm a tad dissapointed in myself, kids, but I do feel more focused the last couple of days. Gotta remember that airplane seatbelt I'll be using in a few more weeks....need to remember 'buckle up', so that I'll buckle down!

Nancy, congrats on the new job!

Another barefoot person here.... I hate shoes and will go barefoot whenever possible!

As to where I am in this challenge:
I am nowhere near where I would like to be in this challenge. :sad2: I really don't know why I seem to be stagnated in my weight loss. I was doing very well in the begining, before this challenge even started, but my weight loss has slowed way way down. I have lost around 25 lbs since around May/ and seem to be in a lull right now.:confused3

I did try on new jeans the other day and almost fit in a pair that was 2 sizes smaller than the last pair I purchased in April.

Barefoot gal here. I grew up in the Ozarks, so DH teases me about being a hillbilly, but I never wear shoes at home. Still in my pjs too. Today is a housekeeping day, so I usually wait to shower and get ready until after I'm done scrubbing.

I know this challenge has helped me. It kept me out of the kids' Halloween candy. DH and I have been planning Thanksgiving as well. We're going to have cheat days Thu - Sat while we have company, BUT I'm planning the menus so that we won't have tons of leftovers and even if we cheat it won't be anything too bad. We're going to go back to Phase 1 SB diet afte the holiday to take off any potential gains/jump start losing again.

I think having this kind of motivation during the holiday season is great - without it I wold probably be gaining, not losing.

Brenda - I don't think it's your questions at fault when we don't have a lot of answers. Some days it's just hard to get to the computer. :-)

Any chinese food lovers here? Yesterday I was out all day shopping and got pretty hungry. Since I didn't want any fast food, I went to a chinese takeout and had them make me steamed chicken and veggies with brown rice. I asked for no salt so they added fresh garlic and ginger for flavor. It was a very good and healthy lunch!

I am not anywhere where I wanted to be... actually shamed to say I gained a lot of weight back.. dont know if it was thanks to the halloween stuff or poor judgement or what.. so I basicaly started over.. and I am on a more strict diet.. more fruits and veggies.. but I still have trouble with my water.. I HATE IT!

now as to whats on my feet..... my lovely 4 year old hid my shoes so today I am wearing my 13 year olds shoes to work... omg the smell alone is killing me... her and I are gunna have a talk when I get home... lol....

anyways I am down 1.5 lbs from last week

Hey Brenda and Red Team...I lost more this past week and am now officially nearing the 35 pound mark since I began this journey the middle of August. I have no idea how much I have lost here since I just keep track of the date I had had enough and made a decision to lose weight. I am hopeful that once I take the time to really exercise it will come off faster!:goodvibes I have walked off and on since the fair but have taken it easy since the pain and swelling increased majorly after the church fair weekend. I am hoping to get back to walking consistently tomorrow. I am also going to a conference in Philadelphia this weekend bringing along DD 17, hoping to get some good walking in!:goodvibes

GO RED TEAM WE CAN DO IT!!!:cheer2:

I'm another bare foot gal. I hate wearing shoes and only wear them when I absolutely have to.

Missed the question of the day yesterday sorrr...to work I wear my Land's End clogs because I can slip them off and on but most of the time I am barefoot...I love to have no shoes and socks on! Have a great day RED TEAM:cheer2:

Another weigh in day done. Thanks to the 18 that have checked in, only waiting on 8.

Attention Red Team

Remember the weekly team challenge runs through midnight tonight. Check it out here. The maximum score is 55. I expect someone from the Red Team to earn that score. You still have time to earn points. EVERY POINT COUNTS. Please report your total score to me by 3 pm EST Thursday, tomorrow. Please try to get the points in on time. If you will be busy tomorrow report them tonight or tomorrow morning.

Red Team question of the day As I have read the PMs and our thread the consensus seems do be that we are not quite where we want to be. So todays question is what will you do differently this week to try to change that?

Me first. I could list a million things I need to do differently, but I want to realistically commit to something I know I can and will accomplish this week. This week I will faithfully journal everyday. In my journal I track my weight, what I each each day, and how I do with achieving my 5 daily goals (5 fruits & veggies, proper WOE, 8 cups of water, exercise, and not eating after 8 pm). I know this will help me to have this all written down. I know this will make a difference this week for me.

Week 10 Red Team Challenge

Red Team, you have been challenged. This is it. I know some of you have been giving this 100% everyday. To my superstars I salute you. You are my inspiration, keep up the good work. On the other hand some of us have not been giving 100%, like me. I have been a slacker. I challenge all other Red Team slackers to really get with the program this week. Really make a serious effort every hour, every day, to make wise health choices. I know at the end of the week we will be rewarded on the scale for our good choices. Let's get really serious this week. I know we will all be amazed at what we can accomplish with 100% effort.

How about it Red Team? How are things going? If you are doing well that is great, keep it up. If you are struggling hang in there. Try harder, never give up. I know you can do it. This is a difficult journey we are on, but we have the ability to be successful and reach our weight loss goals if we work hard and persevere.

Have a healthy day!

Morning red team! Here's my #5 for the weekly challenge:

As I live alone, it's a bit easier for me to find some rejuvination time...but when I think about it, I don't often do something special. I can find time to read my book or watch my favorite show, so for this challenge I had to think about something I enjoy that I don't often do. So......I took myself for a drive in the country! Opened all the windows, put on my "Jerses Boys" sound track and enjoyed a long drive in the desert. No destination in mind, no 'errands' allowed while I was out. It was great! Came home refreshed and light hearted! :hippie:

QOTD, actually I'm pretty happy where I am in terms of just being happy that I am losing. I feel good about the fact that I am walking almost every day and having started walking with weights (and sore from it LOL) I am sure that things will keep progressing.

Hi folks ... sorry, haven't been around. Not a good week on many levels.

how to rejuvinate myself ... a good long soak in my jacuzzi tub ... sometimes with a glass of wine by my side. :goodvibes I try to do this at least once a week, more often in the cold winter months.

I gained a pound this week, so haven't lost very much weight at all during this challenge. Doesn't make me happy, but this challenge has done 2 great things for me: I am more aware of how much water I drink in a day, and I almost always get close to 100 oz per day; I have committed to my power walking at lunch, several days a week. My butt hadn't moved in months, so this challenge has put me back on track with my friends who make sure that I'm out there with them on a regular basis. :goodvibes

Hope you're all having a good week, team ! Here's hoping we get to keep that challenge clippie for another week.

Share with your team in the team weekly thread a way that you spend time just for yourself and how it rejuvenates you -- max 5 pts

I like to curl up with a good book and a hot cup of tea. I find it rejuvenating simply because I'm leaving reality behind for a little while. Shopping without children in tow is very nice also!

I am a couch potato. I just sit in front of the TV and veg out. Television can take me to so many different places and entertains me with so many different slices of life. Sometimes when I see people with problems on TV it helps me realize that my problems aren't too bad after all. Sometimes I set a timer and sit on the couch with my legs on the hassock to powernap. If I did not set the timer I would nap too long. I daydream about exotic locales, think about things going on in my life, or plan my next projects around the house. Escaping reality rejuvenates and relaxes me.

I already posted how sitting outside at a football game with over 70,000 screaming fans rejuvinates me. It just feels so good to me to be part of the crowd and having such a good time while there.

Now, am I where I want to be? As long as my scale is going down every week I don't care if it's an ounce or 5 pounds. Each ounce down is 1 less ounce I need to lose. I think it's all mindset for me now. The last time I tried to lose weight if I didn't lose at least a pound I would give up, now losing less just makes me want to work harder.

My new job should help too since I now have a set schedule and they have a fitness room. Yes, I am actually going to break down and start to exercise (someday) I just have to get myself into the mindset to do it.
