Here ye, Hear ye, Attention all Red Team members

Welcome to the finale thread. Yes this is it. Today is our final weigh in for the WISH Biggest Loser 3 challenge. Please PM or email me your final weight by midnight tonight, Tuesday. Remember our last weekly team challenge runs until midnight tonight, Tuesday and your total points need to be reported by NOON tomorrow, Wednesday - please note the different time. Now get out and earn some points today because EVERY POINT COUNTS!! If you need to review the challenge look here.

What's next??

The Biggest Loser #5 will start Tuesday January 1 on NBC. Our WISH Biggest Loser 4 challenge will begin that day. It will run a little differently than BL 3. Stay tuned for more information. Our finale thread will run until the final announcement is made and winners are declared. When our finale thread is closed a new 'Biggest Loser 3 alumni' thread will be posted. This will be a place for us all to gather for the remainder of the holidays until BL 4 starts. The alumni thread and BL 4 will not divide us into teams. We will all work together to support, encourage, and help each other.

I have had a great time working with you Red Team and hope to see you in the WISH Biggest Loser 4 challenge. If you are interested in helping or have suggestions for our new challenge please PM me.

Well now it is time to jump into bed, I stayed up late just to start this thread. The fact that the DIS clock is off 40 minutes didn't help. I will check in tomorrow but now DH starts work at 8 AM, so I get an extra hour of sleep in the morning. I bet some early birds will be up bright and early to check in before I am up so I had to get this thread ready for them.

Red Team question of the day

If you have not posted a family holiday tradition please do so. That's 5 points for the weekly team challenge. Also today please reflect on your WISH Biggest Loser 3 experience.

I will reflect later. The dryer just buzzed that it is done and my pillow is calling for me.

My biggest loser experience helped to jumpstart my diet a lot. It actually started at the perfect time for me since I had made a deal with myself that I would start exercising and dieting once the kids started back to school in the fall. The weigh-ins helped me to stay on track.

i forgot to give a holiday tradition... so here it is.

our biggest tradition other than everyone gathering is that we continue the polish tradition of breaking the oplatek before we eat. we each go around and break a little piece of the wafer off and kiss and say merry christmas.

here's what the tradition entails if anyone is interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_wafer

i've lost some more weight this week even after eating almost a full bacon burger yesterday at chilis. :headache:

i'm going back to the gym today since finals are over to get my butt back on the elliptical!

Although my holiday is over...My Holiday tradition is to find new Hanukkah Merchandise that I can buy. I've been thinking of switching to an electric menorah as well.

Wow we all have come so far, supporting each other and losing, maintaining, setting goals, ups and downs...we are great cheerleaders for each other and I am so glad I signed up when I saw this thread on the CB originally! This is not something I would ever in a million years do. I will be back for BL 4. I need the support, hints, encouragement...with that being said I lost again this week. I am a mere few pounds away from my 1st goal on Dec. 26th...I am hoping to make it but if I don't I am so close I can try harder in the New Year. Thanks to one and all and to Brenda for all of your hard work and support.

Happy Holidays Red Team...we ARE doing it!:goodvibes  :cheer2:

We made it to the end! I hope everyone had good week. I'm down .4, so I'm happy!

I want to give a great big thanks to Brenda for being our team's captain. We couldn't have done it without you! Thank you for giving up so much of your time for our team. It was quite an undertaking, I'm sure. You were incredibly organized, motivating and fun to chat with on our weekly threads. I just wanted you to know I truly appreciate it!

I also enjoyed chatting with everyone else throughout our time here and I hope everyone got results and motivation that they were hoping for! :santa:

A family tradition of ours, is we celebrate the holiday on Christmas Eve. We have a nice dinner, change into matching family PJ's and open presents. I can't wait to start new traditions with my young girls.

Holiday traditions...
We're kind of an eclectic bunch, not a lot of baking, etc., but we do have a lot of Disney ornaments on the tree.
Oh, and we always go to see a certain house near us that I think could put the Osbournes a run for their money. They even have an FM broadcast of music!

agnes!

Is there any word yet on who the DIS' Biggest Loser was for our entire "season"?

I definitely want to participate in the next DIS-version of BL and also in any alumni threads.

Brenda - please e-mail me. Thanks!

agnes!

I only had 10 Red Team members check in for our final weigh in. At our highest number we were at 39 and some have dropped out over the course of our challenge. I was hoping to hear from 21 people but 11 did not contact me. I did not remind or pester them as I usually do. I miss those 11 people and feel like I have failed them. Then I remember that they are grown ups. They have busy lives and things come up.

Thank you to my final 9 Red Team superstars

agnes! (Mary) had an early November trip and a quickie trip last weekend to WDW and did not blow all her hard work. One week during the challenge she reported 'no loss AND I WANT TO BE A LOSER!' Mary you are a big loser in my book, keep up the hard work and I know you will reach your goal.

bridgetgabbie (Robin) had a birthday December 13 and is a weight loss superstar who is 8 pounds from her goal (according to her ticker). Her ticker also indicates there may be some serious shopping occurring soon. She is a busy mom of two darling daughters and still finds time to RUN. While running in the pouring rain she even gives directions to strangers. What a sweetheart! Robin you keep running toward your weight loss goal. I know you can do it!

cccm (Celeste) survived an October birthday and works with Girl Scout Cookies and is still a loser. A gain one week was explained as 'those darn cookies from Trader Joe's are killing me'. She is a Girl Scout leader (I too have green blood). Celeste are you an area or neighborhood Cookie Manager? I know you can control your cookie intake when they arrive and make it to your weight loss goal. Keep working hard and you can do it.

cherylp3 (Cheryl) always weighs in where ever she is. Sometimes she weighs at Curves, Publix (where I think she works) and she has even weighed in on the Disney Wonder during her October cruise. She and her DH made 750 potato pancakes for their temple Hanukkah party. Cheryl is a shining example that is it possible to still be a big loser and enjoy life. Keep it up Cheryl!

dizchick (Val) moved several hundred miles to start a new job (can you say STRESS!), went to WDW and even vacationed at a beach house and still is a loser. She loves exercising (I am not making that up) and is working to lose the 20 pounds that found her this past year partly due to medication intake. The medication is no longer an issue and she is moving toward her weight loss goal. Keep on exercising and eating the WW way and I know you will get to where you want to be Val.

iggbees (Kristin) has a silly meaningless screen name but is a serious hard working student that started graduate school in September studying molecular biology. She is also working to lose the 20 pounds that found her this past year partly due to medication intake. She works out and tries to eat right but says "I just get so frustrated sometimes. :sad2:' I hear ya sistah. She has also noticed that her 'calves have muscle definition.' Great job Kristin, I don't even know if I have calves any more. I know you are busy with life but I know you can do what it takes to meet your weight loss goals. Keep eating right and exercising. Those calves seem to like it.

maryliz (Mary-Liz) is our Canadian friend. She has two sisters on the Blue team. I bet they have been giving her a really hard time during this challenge but Mary-Liz did not give up. She enjoyed an early December trip to WDW and is still a loser. After a gain one week she said she was 'sorry for our team.' Mary-Liz don't be sorry, just try harder. Weight loss is a journey and some weeks there will be gains, just don't lose focus. After that gain get back to work. Mary-Liz I know with hard work you will reach that impressive immediate goal that is just within your reach. Don't go crazy over the holidays and I know you can get to that next milestone and then downwards and onwards to your final goal.

simpilotswife (Kimberly) has done some SERIOUS work during this challenge. That is quite an accomplishment for a PTA involved part time bookkeeper mom of two. Earlier this month she said 'Actually I'm proud of not disassembling the 3 gift baskets of goodies that we have at work. :scared1: ' I'm proud of you too Kimberly. I work at home so I am responsible for what is in the house to tempt me, I can't imagine having that stuff around all the time at work calling my name. And this time of year there sure is a lot of it. For Thanksgiving she said 'I'm thankful for a wonderful DH who lets me know everyday that he loves me and I am the one for him.' AWWWW!! That's too sweet! He's a pilot in training who had bypass surgery 1 1/2 years ago and he knows he has got it good with Kimberly. Kimberly keep up your hard work and I know you will reach your weight loss goal. Great job so far!!

winniedapooh (Michelle) PMed her initial weight to the wrong person but has been checking in with me ever since. In September she had surgery and was on pain meds that left her 'sitting like a slug' and feeling like a 'beached whale.' Soon after she enjoyed a trip to WDW and hobbled around just fine. She celebrated a birthday December 10 and has '5 not so little cherubs'. She too is a busy working mom but during this challenge has taken time for herself. She has taken the time to eat right and exercise and it certainly shows in her impressive weight loss. She also had an impressive immediate goal within her reach. I know you can do it Michelle, I have faith in you. I know the next week and a half will be hard but just hang in there. You WILL reach that goal and it will be a victory along your weight loss journey.

To my other Red Teammates I love you too. There is still time to check in. Just PM and let me know how you are doing. This is my last chance to hear from you.

Well I have successfully avoided doing any serious work in the office today. DH and I are hoping to leave on our Christmas road trip Sunday afternoon and I have a million things to do. I will now be sending out our final results to the other team captains. Stay tuned for the official announcement. We had a good week. Our best week since week four and our 4th best percentage.

Red Team Rocks!!

I don't work at publix. I actually don't keep a scale at home since I don't want to be obsessed with weight.

Cheryl

I knew I would get some things mixed up, thanks for correcting me. If I have made incorrect statements about anyone else I apologize and encourage you to correct my errors.

Still waiting on final numbers from the other teams. I emailed mine and was asked if we were reporting week 15 figures or just the final cumulative numbers. We had a good week 15 so I requested that we report both figures.

If anyone still has number to report to me please PM as soon as possible. I would love some more challenge point totals and of course would love to hear from other Red Team members.

Those darn cookies do kill me. I am Cookie Mom in my troop (Juniors) and our sister Brownie Troop. I did fill in for our Town Cookie Manager while she was on vacation. Hard to believe that on January 5th I will have 2,280 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies in my cellar.

I made 5 batches of various cookies for those that help deliver Christmas to the families we adopt.

Good work everyone, sorry I didn't lose more. But I will!

Aw thanks for the kind words Brenda unfortunately I did disassemble the baskets the other day but other than the poppycock I was a good girl. :goodvibes

I just wanted to say that you have been a great leader. You've been involved (even while planning a wedding) and have been a great motivator IMO. I hope that you are a team leader for the next BL and that I am on your team again.

Hey Brenda...thanks so much for the vote of confidence. I sleipped a bit yesterday...I hate when client's bring me in candy, lol. I brought it home to share the wealth with my family  , that did not work because I ate it instead. Oh well I am back on track today. I will go again next time and post the alumni thread to get to know all of the teams. I am excited for next Tuesday to see if I met my goal and will post. Then on Wednesday it is off to WDW for the kids surprise Christmas gift where I will do my best to be good. Dr. said I only have to use a wheelchair when I get swollen or the ache won't stop. He says I have to listen to my body and learn not to ignore pain. Kind of like eating right and learning that all over again! Thanks again for helping us so much Brenda.:goodvibes
