Good morning Black team members!

Couldn't wait to get started this morning! It will be fun to go on this journey with fellow Disney-lovers!

Beth

I swear that I already posted my greetings on the this thread! My brain must still be in shock after reading the numbers on the scale.

Good morning to all my fellow black teammates! I actually got up when the alarm went off this morning and exercised before waking the kiddos. Will wonders never cease?

Thanks, donac, for being our team leader! Have a fantastic day everyone!

GO BLACK! :cheer2:

Hi All - Thanks to donac for being our captain and to and ohmom for setting this up. I was surprised at my weight this am so I really need this.

Hi Everyone :wave2: Just wanted to introduce myself... I'm Kaye and I'm 28 (almost 29  ) and I'm so excited about meeting all of my black team members and losing lots of weight! :teeth: I'm training for my first 5K and my weight loss plan is counting calories along with exercise. Maybe we could all add what type of diet plan we are on so we can help cheer each other on? My plan for the day is to get back on plan after a too lax weekend. I'm feeling the results of all of the yuckiness I let in my body this weekend! I'm using the weights at the gym at work during lunch and this evening will find me running on the treadmill. Have a great day everyone! GO BLACK TEAM :)

Okay,

Back on for this.

Weight loss plan. No dieting or counting anything for me. Eating everything that I enjoy. Only making changes that I can absolutely live with for life. Worked for me this year ....25 pounds down in a year. Exercise...will up it.

Here's where I need support and help. And I'm laughing because I sound like an awful teammate. Lucky you guys. Oh well. (But I am a competitive person) I need help and support with failing. That's why I signed up at the eleventh hour. I thought, "geez do I want to look at failure on a competition thread?" :rotfl: I'm an all or nothing kind of person. And can't seem to deal, at this point, with gaining or no change. I would like to change this during the biggest loser. I would like to stop treating gaining or not changing in weight or inches as the end of the world. And focus on the whole journey. Not just some surprising or disappointing week. That's my goal.

Thanks everyone.

Oh, and I'm forty. And forty is wonderful. Truth. No sarcasm.

Hi everyone! I am so excited. I am really hoping this contest will motivate me and keep me on track. I am going to try to begin the Couch to 5K program today as well as eat healthy.

Go Black team:cheer2:
Robyn

Good MORNING Black TEAM!!

Woot!

I'm Morgan and I'm 26 and I need to shed the pounds! I am in week 6 of the Couch to 5k program and I am getting back on the WW points counting program. I don't actually belong to WW anymore, but I still follow their plan and use SparkPeople to keep track of my food intake. I'm trying to cut out artificial sweeteners and eat more natural, healthy foods.

I'm excited to get started with BL. I've actually never watched the show, but I need the encouragement of a group format.

I had a bad morning this AM. I overslept for work and my breakfast exploded in the microwave. I almost decided to pack it in and get a Pop Tart out of the vending machine but instead I chose to have an apple with peanut butter.

Good Luck Black Team!!

Good Morning! I dropped my dd off at her first day of school and immediately went to the park and walked three miles.:goodvibes I am Tracy.

Hi! I'm Theresa, and I'm 39 years old. I am married (almost 20 years) to the most wonderful man in the universe. I am so excited to be a part of the Black Team. A little about me...I was diagnosed with diabetes in December 2005. It was a great wakeup call, and I lost 90 pounds between December 2005 and Decembe 2006 by making sensible food decisions and working out each and every day. I hit a plateau, and with many fun vacations and weekend getaways this year, I haven't motivated myself to get the last 65 pounds off. I think I hit the plateau because I didn't cut back on my food portions after losing the weight.

Anyway, I'm excited to be a part of this competition, and I look forward to being a good teamplayer. We LUV to travel, and getting the final weight off forever will make for even more exciting adventures!

Today: Off to a decent start...I had a small breakfast and look forward to a healthy lunch and dinner....30 minutes on the elliptical this evening!

Hi Kaye! You're not allowed to  about your age until you're in your 30's! ;) Sounds like you have a good workout plan in place. I hope to one day be able to run on the treadmill for more than 5 minutes without thinking I'm going to die. :teeth:

Congrats on the weight loss! You're definitely going about things in a good way! :thumbsup2 I think I understand what you're saying about failure. I've been on that boat for a LONG time, and it's come back to bite me in my butt this year. I got too wrapped up in what I was or wasn't losing and got frustrated at how long it seemed to be taking. Unfortunately, I gave up and am now 2.5 pounds heavier than I was at my original starting point. :sad2: This time around I've got to change my mindset and realize that it is a journey and not a speeding race around the world.

Good MORNING Black TEAM!!

I'm following the points program, too. No meetings here, either. They obviously did not help me, or I wouldn't still be in the shape I'm in. Congrats on making a good choice for breakfast this AM. It would have been much easier to grab that Pop Tart, but you didn't do it. Way to go! :cheer2:

Now that I've put my 2 cents in everywhere, here's a little more about me...My name is Angela, and I'm 35. I'm a SAHM to DD8 and DS4, but I'll be returning to college for degree #2 beginning in January. :teacher: :scared1: I will attempt to follow the WW points program, but I'm realistic enough to know that I will not be counting points for the rest of my life. My focus will be on training my mind and body to make better choices so that counting points will not be necessary in the future. My exercise plan is to hit the treadmill (not with a hammer :teeth: ) every morning for at least 30 minutes. I will lose zero pounds if I don't exercise. A sad but true fact that I've reluctantly come to accept over the past few months.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and cheering us all towards a smaller scale number and a healthier and happier life. I know that I definitely will need the cheering section. :cheer2:

Have a good day!

Thanks to all who have PM'ed me with your starting weight. If you have not please do so.

Also if you haven't given a short bio about yourself please do so in the next couple of days. I don't have time to write mine now but I will either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Have a losing day everyone. You can do it.

hi again everyone
having a good day so far. Plopped my two kids in the double stroller and took a long, long walk and boy was I pooped after so I knew I got some good exercise in
Usually i would come home from the walk and eat junk stuff(pretzels, animal crackers with the kids),kind of defeats the walk -know what I mean, but today I took a big glass of diet snapple peach iced tea, it hit the spot and then had my veggie burger for lunch.

So I figured I would tell you a little about me.
Im Marcy,37 (when did that happen??,lol) and have a great hubby with two wonderful girls ages 3 and 1 1/2. We are taking them and my mom for our first family trip to Disney in December and I know I need to get my butt in gear for Disney, because thats a lot of walking and I want to be able to keep up with everyone.

I have always had food and weight issues, lost about a 100 pounds a few years ago,was trying to get pregnant so thought that would help,it couldnt hurt.
lost the weight ,but didnt get pregnant, got depressed ,ate and ate and ate.Gained some weight back and then needed to have emergency gallbladder surgery, was told I couldnt have kids due to a medicine I would have to take for rest of my life due to complications with the surgery,so we decided to adopt.
Went to China where our daughter was born ,and our family was complete or so I thought. Upon coming home from China 2 weeks later, went to dr to check on a fibroid that I had before the China trip, and was asked "do you want to hear the heartbeat?"
I said "of what???" she said "of your baby, you are 2 1/2 months pregnant!!
so we went from no kids to 2 kids in one year. we were doubly blessed and I wouldnt change a thing.

didnt gain much weight during pregnancy. gained it all after I had her.:rotfl: so I am not at my heaviest but I am still really heavy and need to lose 100 pounds to be what drs say for height etc,but I dont think I was ever or will ever be that small,so I will take it a pound at a time.

I really think this is going to be good for me. I am very good with competition. Its funny if this was just for myself ,I would probably cheat on my eating plan but if I know I have people counting on me like my team,I wont give in.

I am a vegetarian and like to stick to the same foods for the most part,so I like to eat mostly salads, veggie burgers, beans, edamame, fruit, yogurt, things like that.

I was what you called the most unhealthy vegetarian you could meet,I would eat healthy meals but supplement it with a box of ring dings, etc you know the drill :rotfl2:

but its different now. I have been back on track for about a month now,but havent gotten on the scale till this morning. what a shocker, you know yourself that you are big but when you see a number, its like WOW,reality sets in. kind of like when I would watch boxing and I hear that I weigh more than some of the heavyweight boxers,oh man, thats bad,lol

so on to a new way of thinking, eating and living.
I am 100% committed to myself and to the team and I look forward to getting to know more about all of you.

sorry I rambled but the girls are in for a nap,and the words kept coming,so thanks for reading
Marcy

Hello teammates!!! :cheer2: Go Black Team!!!:cheer2:
It's great to meet you all. My name's Kathy and I'm 43, a single mom to an awesome 5 year old boy who is starting kindergarten tomorrow. I am a nurse and starting a new job next week, and am hoping with all our changes to make healthy choices and get into a more active and healthy lifestyle.
I've been doing weight watchers for 2 years (intermittently:guilty: ) after having yo-yo dieted for years. My loss to date is 35.4, and I have about 30-35 more to lose. I do the points and when I journal faithfully, I lose weight.
My plan is to stick with ww, and to walk or bike 3-5 times/week. I dragged my son on a walk this am, and tomorrow after he gets on the bus to school, I'll walk to the school and take pics, and get a good walk in.
This BL challenge is just what I needed to get back and stay on track. I don't want to let down the team.
:woohoo: WE CAN DO IT!!!:woohoo:
