Bjs wholesale online requiring membership for Disney gift cards now?

I bought 10 $100 cards a few weeks ago and everything worked fine but a friend said she tried to buy tonight and the website indicated she needed a membership to purchase the cards. I checked it out and saw it said “limit 3 per member.” I didn’t go very far into the process bc I wasn’t intending to buy, but I figured I’d ask here to see if anyone else has run into this?

I wondered if they were going to stop selling discounted cards. Then I saw Target on-line didn’t have cards and I wondered if Disney wasn’t allowing discount cards any longer

Yes, but they rolled out a new membership level at the same time for online only sales at a reduced rate of $10 per year. Have to factor that in now.

I noticed my BJs had very few $100 GC when I was there this week. Mostly the pick your amount cards.

That's probably not too bad. But I wonder how often you can order the cards since it seems there is a 3 card limit.

Yeah I don't know what that's about because it's said that for a while now on a bunch of cards but I've ordered more than 3 at a time and nothing's changed. I ordered 6 SpaWeek GC's that has the "3 per member" language in the same order, and everything processed and arrived with no issues. Playing with it now it even gives an option of adding 5 GC's to your cart right from the product page so I don't know how or when they'll start enforcing that.

I sprung for the $10 membership on the day they started requiring it. At the same time, I bought 3 $50 gift cards, so saved $4.50, $5.50 to go. Since then, I have made three purchases of 2 $100 gift cards (about $4 savings each), paying for the membership and then some. However, this was not without issue. The first time I went to order $100 gift cards, it would not allow me to add them to the cart, but just gave a generic error message and no reason. An incognito window fixed this. I added them to my cart, then logged in and checked out. The next time, I ordered with no issues. Today, I placed my 3rd order of $100 cards and had to use incognito again.

I don't know if the times I've had to use incognito are because the website is garbage, or because I'm not supposed to order cards so close together. However, I've definitely been able to get my money's worth out of the membership, and hopefully I will be able to continue buying the cards all summer to pay for our fall trip. 4% savings on an expensive Disney trip really adds up.

At BJs you can use a credit card and get rewards on top of the 4%. Which is what I do.

I use my Disney rewards which is 1% rewards. But some people use cards that do 2% or a Discover because sometimes they do 5%.

I used my Discover card in Jan to max out the Q1 category. Hope this benefit doesn’t end. 10% off is a good discount.
