Bitterly Disappointed

Well, my dreams of attending this weekend's Belmont Stakes have been dashed, for the most part. First we couldn't find a petsitter for my dogs (we need an overnight petsitter). Then after we found one who was willing to do it, my yorkie got very ill. I just can't go away and leave her with a stranger when she's ill....it just doesn't feel right.

The petsitter understands, but says she has alot of experience with sick animals. I am so torn...I have waited my whole life to see a Triple Crown winner and this is absolutely crushing me with disappointment. Also, it's my birthday this weekend! The trip to Belmont was supposed to be the present.

I feel like a trip to WDW has been cancelled.:( :( :(

Melora, last night we did the ritual teeth cleaning (so much FUN!) and when we were done, I turned around to piles of vomit all over the carpet. She just kept on going as we frantically tried to clean it up. THen she kept my husband up all night just pacing and generally not feeling well. She has been going to the bathroom frequently (number 2) and it is obvious she has upset stomach.

This happens every once in a while with her...she gets all shivery and depressed and can't keep anything down. Now we have to start her on boiled chicken and rice and phase in her regular food again. :(

She's active and hungry and we just had bloodwork done so we know there's nothing seriously wrong, but I think it's a bit unfair to the dog AND the petsitter to have her sit in this situation. I don't want the petsitter to feel responsible for cleaning up my carpet and stuff...:(

The worst thing was that as I was apologizing and explaining this to the petsitter, I got the feeling she thought that I thought I couldn't trust her with my dog! That's not true at all....I just feel like this is an unfair situation to be put in. I feel like I offended her...:(

It's tricky, Microcell. We have to cancel the hotel reservations by tomorrow and give the petsitter an absolute yes or no by tomorrow as well.

She just threw up her boiled chicken and rice, so I would say we are probably not going to go. :(
