Hi

When we head down to Disneyland in August we are considering dropping by the DVC stand in Downtown Disney and signing up for Disney Vacation Club.

I've looked into it in detail and I really want to join directly with Disney, rather than through re-sale. However, we would prefer not to be allocated with Saratoga Springs or Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas as our home resort. If we wanted Boardwalk Villas, would we have no option but the re-sale route? Is there no way at all that Disney can still sell BWV packages?

If not, what do you recommend? I guess we would have to look at going through re-sale, but it sounds like it could be a long and stressful procedure with the right of first refusal that Disney has. Seems like we have a trade off between BWV but resale or direct with Disney but Saratoga Springs or AKL.

Thanks for any advice.

Disney will sell you sold out resorts such as BWV, but, from what I've read, you may need to be insistent about it if that's what you want, because they are likely to 'push' (this is relative; DVC is definitely 'soft sell' ;) ) the current resorts of SSR and AKV.

Unless they actually have points available - and this does happen sometimes - they will put you on the waitlist. If you aren't bothered about which Use Year, then your wait time may not be too long.

Good luck with it :thumbsup2
