Hi all -

Need opinions please (and I'm sure you got plenty of 'em!!! :teeth: )

My mom, sister (hucifer) and I are going on a girls trip in October. Hucifer wants to eat in the French Pavillion for dinner - so my question is - which restaurant? None of us have eaten at either one, so we are clueless here.

Any suggestions, opinions and comments are greatly appreciated!

Dude, that was Mom who suggested the restaurant. I am merely entertaining the idea with great enthusiasm.

Oh...and don't forget to mention that I'm vegetarian! :cutie: Thanks bunches.

WHATever!!!!

Look - I just want the best dining experience possible, especially since you guys are putting me outside of my comfor zone :scared:

Let's put it to the pros - shall we?

I am going to vote for BISTRO de PARIS... the last two times we've eaten at Chefs de France turned into a 2 hour ordeal. The food was just "OK"; the prices were "High" and the service, while friendly was S _ L _ O _ W !! :goodvibes

I have heard that Bistro de Paris is the creme de la creme a thus I plan to dine there this summer, however, that doesn't help you now . . .
I have eaten at Chefs de France and I *loved* it! I had salad, French onion soup and a Croque Monsieur, all of which was great. I loved the atmosphere- it was quiet and very Parisian- didn't seem "middle of the theme park" esque at all. The waiter was very helpful to me and my 2 friends, told us a lot about where he was from in France, suggested wines, etc. A very enjoyable experience. I would have to say, though, that Hucifer should read over the menus and let that be the deciding vote because I'm not sure how much of a selection I can remember for a vegetarian- I remember a lot of seafood, escargot, ham, etc. I would check on some veggie friendly entrees- oh, and I hope Hucifer's lacto-ovo, there's a lot of cheese on the menu, too. Though, I'm sure at either place, they could accommodate a special request. I'd check the menus at allearsnet.
Chefs de France is a lot simpler and less expensive. Bistro is more complex and upscale (read expensive)
Good luck and let us know how it was!

Thanks Disbug and Lulu!

...Anyone else?

I'd go with Les Chefs de France. We ate there in January and it's now my favorite restaurant. Our server, Maximilian, was so friendly and attentive. He apologized because his English wasn't very good. But I let him know that it was ok since we couldn't even speak French. :) My mom and I had the salad with a vinaigrette which was very good. Then we both had the french onion soup. It was soooooo delicious and the best soup I've ever had. I can't wait to eat there again in February.

I have eaten at both Bistro twice and Les Chefs 5 times, I prefer Les Chefs. The food at the Bistro was not memorable, but the food at Les Chefs is delicious and I will be eating there in less than a month! The bistro is more quiet and both times I ate there, it was almost empty. Les Chefs is more lively and less stiff.

We went to Bistro for our Honeymoon, full-blown, knock out meal. $200 dollars later (we went hogwild), we absolutely loved it. Best meal I've ever had, and I hate the French. One thing to remember, it is a serious FRENCH restuarant. Not for kids or for people who prefer quick meals. You have to dress rather nicely as well.

I would recommend it because it is a once in a lifetime experience though. GREAT DINING EXPERIENCE.

Never been to Chef's, probably won't now because I've been to Bistro.

I've never been to Bistro, but DBF and I went to Chefs 2 weeks ago, and both really liked it. We went for lunch on our arrival day (and were STARVED since we had been up since 4AM), and were on the dining plan. It was a great, relaxed atmosphere- very parisian brasserie. Our service was not slow at all- on the contrary, our server Bruno seemed to always be there the second we needed something, but wasn't hovering (I hate that, it makes me nervous lol). I'm a vegetarian and there were plenty of choices for both appetizers and entrees. I ended up with the veggie lasagna, but there was also an amazing looking version of mac and cheese that I stayed away from because I wanted something at least slightly healthier (the profiteroles I had for dessert were worth it!) DBF enjoyed his food as well, and he's not veggie. I'm not saying that bistro would be bad (look at the menu though, I can't think of much veggie that they would serve at a fancy french restaurant), I've heard great things- just that Chefs would be a great choice if you go that way!

Thanks for the replies, guys!! :thumbsup2 This has really helped! :hmghost:
