I'm going in December as a pretty delayed birthday trip- so delayed it's actually an "early" birthday trip.

Should I even bother doing the birthday badge thing or will they need proof that my birthday is in December?
 
They won't ask for proof that it is your birthday. I think the badge is a lot of fun. You will get a lot of extra attention, and if your there celebrating your birthday then that counts!
