Birthdays, surprises, Magic & Merriment *3/25 New PTR Link We leave in 47 days*

Great pics of the Candlelight Processional! I can imagine she did a wonderful job! Dinner looks yummy! I have never taken the boat ride and entered through the International Gateway - might have to try that some time! :thumbsup2

Sad it was such an emotional day for you though! It's hard to say good-bye!

Aww-you have such a big heart! I hope to meet you and Bill one day!! I will think of you when I try my first grey goose slushie in October!!

I remember how hard this day was for you as we texted back and forth. My heart was breaking for you. I had thought TnT were staying longer with you all.

Is Jodi Benson not the cutest little thing?? As cold as it was though, I would have been freezing in that little dress... even if the heater was in the dress itself! :lmao:

A sad day at Disney is always tough...I think my grandma passed away while we were in Disney as a kid. Just really changes the park experience on you.

Anyhow...happy thought now.

Candlelight Processional is so cool. We saw it many years ago with Levar Burton. My wife thought it was cool the hear the reading rainbow guy, but I was totally trekking out to hear Jordi tell the story. CP is really a wonderful show. I am so glad they keep doing it every year.

Sorry you had to say goodbye to good friends. That's always a downer!
But it looks like you and Bill had a fabulous night at the CP!

Aww Tracy. You are such a softy.:cloud9:

Bill says that is one of the things he loves about me :goodvibes.

 I hate good byes too.

How awesome to hear Ariel telling the Christmas story!!

Looking forward to more!

Jodi did a fantastic job, I loved listening to her.

such a sad yet magical day!

I would love to see jodi Benson some day

I have always wanted to see her in person, she was wonderful.

I love Jodi Benson!

Goodbyes are so sad

It was sad, we hope to see each other in WDW again.

We LOVED the boat ride, it has become our favorite thing. We will be doing it a lot on our next trip.

We love meeting DISers, it is great to have a shared common interest. I love my grey goose slushies!! I hope you like them.

Tammy you were so sweet to me that day. Thank you so much for texting with me. I loved hearing about what you and your family were doing. Jodi was crazy for wearing that dress :rotfl:.

I am so happy about the CP too. I can't wait to see it again. I hope they have some great speakers this year.

Sorry you had to say goodbye to good friends. That's always a downer!

Bill and I really enjoyed the CLP, it was an amazing experience.

WDW is such a magical place, I totally know how you were feeling at having to say goodbye to friends.

It's just great that you got to experience it with them.

Aww, Tracy... I wanted to reach right through cyberspace and give you a hug when you talked about parting with T&T(&C).

Love, Love, Love that you got Jodi for the CP!

Kathy

I 'm so sad you had such a hard time saying good-bye Tracy!! Really, if I had an extra $500 or so laying around, I'd send you a ticket so you could come to our Meet!!!

I think you might very well have been at the same CLP as Marvali? They had Jodi Benson as well! But they had dinner at Tutto, not Le Cel.

The whole experience looks JUST LOVELY!!

I love that you're so sentimental! It's tough to say goodbye.

I have to say, you should have posted a warning to NOT look at this trip report if you're hungry because those LeCellier photos are making my mouth water.

Love riding the boats around WDW. We did a new one last time - DD to POFQ just for fun. It was great and so relaxing!

I am a sentimental fool.

The LeCellier food was good.

We love the DTD to POFQ ride. It is fantastic!

Dec. 8th, 2010

We did not set the alarm and got up when we wanted, that is the beauty of the long vacation we had planned. We decided to go to DTD today. Neither one of us are big shoppers, we don’t buy a bunch of souvenirs. Well the only souvenirs we do buy is pins, and lots of them. Bill was on a hunt for a certain pin collection…. Pixar Shorts. We had seen the pins online and they were adorable. We are fascinated with Pixar and their artistry. The attention to detail is amazing.

When we go to Pin Traders, we usually split up. I love Walt Disney pins so I go looking for them, Bill loves all pins, I caught him sneaking up on Donald to try to get his pins, look at how mad Donald is:

002.jpg

We bought over $90 worth of pins that night. How insane is that??? I will post all the pins we bought at the end of the report. I think they were most were Pixar.

Anyone have opinions of Fulton’s Crab House?

003.jpg

Way too chilly to go on here:

004.jpg

Our original plans had us going to Animal Kingdom and eating at Tusker House, but since we changed things we had 2 TS credits, Bill wanted to go back here:

006.jpg

I got online on my phone and booked it. We decided to stroll around DTD, I just love the details:

007.jpg

We thought we would take a look at the World of Disney building in the daytime, we have always been there at night:

009.jpg

011.jpg

This was close to a trash can:

012.jpg

I had never seen a sign like that before.

We entered WOD and spent time looking around, nothing jumped out at us so we left empty handed. I figured TnT gave Disney enough money, we didn’t have to add to it.

We also went into Basin, Arribas Brothers, and ended up here:

008.jpg

We had never set foot in this place so we thought we would check it out. It is SMALL and hard for Bill to maneuver in. He did get his free chocolate though and we bought a little chocolate. SO GOOD!! Then we went into Team Mickey’s and looked around. By this time we needed to head over to Captain Jacks.

We were a little early but they seated us fairly quickly. Bill ordered a Bahama Mama and I got a Strawberry Margarita:

014.jpg

The Happy Holidays cup was from MVMCP, I think it was something like $6 of $7. We thought it was cute. Oh there is my Blackberry Storm, I had some fun with that phone, it has been retired and replaced with an HTC Droid Incredible. We will see if I can get the hang of it for pictures and video before our next trip.

Bahama Mama???

015.jpg

NO!!! It was a blended drink and I told her she got him the wrong thing, she said “I just get them from the bartender, I don’t know if that is right” I was about to go off on her when Bill told me to just drop it. He is a sweet soul, I on the other hand want what the heck we ordered, but I listened to him.

He got Shrimp Alfredo:

016.jpg

I got Chicken Alfredo (we are so boring):

017.jpg

The server saw our anniversary buttons, (we were celebrating 6 years together on the trip, so she came to the table with this:

018.jpg

019.jpg

We thought it was sweet of them to give this to us. It will go in the scrapbook if I ever get around to making one. It was time for dessert and Bill ordered Key Lime Pie:

020.jpg

We giggle every time he orders this. One time while we were in St. Louis for some baseball games, we went to a restaurant in our hotel. The server was one of those people that see Bill’s wheelchair and immediately start talking to him like he is 6. Those types of people assume he has a mental impairment as well as a mobility disability. Well it came time to order dessert and he wanted Key Lime Pie, she said “well it is sour, are you sure he wants that?” I HATE IT when they ask me what he wants, he is right beside me, ASK HIM! Well I looked at her and said “that is what he wants”. She said “it is really, really sour, are you sure you don’t want something else?” At this point I wanted to leave the table and look for her manager, Bill just put his hand on my arm and looked at her and told her that is what he wanted. He proceeded to eat every single bite of it and smiled the whole time. So now if he orders it I say, “are you sure it is really, really sour” and we just laugh.

I got the fruit cup:

021.jpg

It was wonderful, the fruit was perfectly ripe, I really enjoyed it. We paid and it was time to go, I always want to get on a boat back to POFQ/POR when we are in DTD, we just loved this boat ride and I miss it. I hope at some point we do that again.

We decided to go to the Christmas store and proceeded to buy a bunch of Victorian Mickey and Minnie ornaments. Bill said “one day we will have enough ornaments to cover the tree and Mom can leave hers at home”. I was shocked by that statement since she always decorates his tree. He said he wanted us to have our own traditions. I loved hearing that from him. We got a Cinderella Castle fleece throws to give to the Vice President of our tenants association. She had been in Disney’s College Program and will talk about Disney as much as I do when we get together, I LOVE HER. (She cried when we gave the blanket to her, then that made me cry) We got on a Pop bus and got back to the room as quickly as possible.

Next installment…. My birthday day!

Hey I think Bill just goosed Donald!!!

mickeymouse23.gif

I think you dinner looks yummy not boring!!! ;) They must have changed Chefs at Captain Jack's because we ate there once in 2005...the food was awful....the pasta was like it was out of can.:headache: I had the shrimp Alfredo and there were 3 teeny, tiny shrimp in is all! We did get a AWESOME drink there I think it might have been the Fuzzy Captain. It was SO GOOD!!!:thumbsup2

How sweet of them to give you a card.:goodvibes Cool looking card!

Can't wait to read about your birthday!!

I was thinking that Donald was upset with Bill for grabbing daisy! :lmao: That is such a cute picture!

The pasta looks yummy. I think there are so many interesting places to eat in Disney. Maybe I should be glad we don't get to go back till 2013. Gives me lots of time to diet and then I can eat it all. Even if I lose 50 lbs, i'll still come back the size I am now! :rotfl:

What a sad day saying goodbye to friends !!:sad2:But the Candlelight Concert and the Supper at Le Celier helped I'm sure !!

Sounds like a nice and relaxing day! How frustrating about Bill's drink though. (not to mention the waitress asking you about his dessert instead of him...for pete's sake! :headache:)

Oooo...birthday is next!! :cool1:

Sara

That dinner looked really good! I've never eaten at Cap'n Jacks before, so I may have to consider it on another trip.

I love relaxing and shopping days. Great way to break up a trip.

Fun installment!! That is a great picture of Donald getting a bit fiesty about who knows what.

It would irk me too not getting what you ordered. Glad Bill was ok with it, and let is slide off- perhaps not worth the stress.

All in all, and nice time at DTD, I'd say :)

You never know what Bill is going to do.

This was our 3rd time there. I don't know if we will go back, the food was ok, but not something I would make an ADR for.

Bill has had the Fuzzy Captain before, he liked it. We thought it was sweet of them to give us a card.

Well the waitress asking about the dessert was a waitress in St. Louis not WDW that was very annoying.

We needed a decompression day.

Bill is the most agreeable person you could ever meet. He always smiles and doesn't let things bother him.
