Birthdays, hotels and cakes...

Regarding birthdays and hotels.

Is any one hotel more likely to be generous with birthday pixie dust, than another?

Considering a birthday trip for my then to be 12 year old son end of this month (we'll be there for the actual birthday)...and had decided on HNY...but upon pricing again, DLH works out to be only $227 more (that's about £138) total...
Which seems great to me...and I have to imagine that it's just by chance, but would staying at DLH great his chances for pixie dust? Or is it just totally random if they will follow through with such request?

Also...when getting a Disney birthday cake...there will only be 3 of us, and figure we would just do pizzas at Cafe Mickey and have the cake brought out there...do they allow you to take it back to your room, should you choose?

Any other insight into birthday magic I should research? TIA!

I saw people leaving with a cake in a box so it probably a normal thing to do unless you are will really big group and can have it there and then...

re hotel choice I guess its random if you get anything extra...

they definitely will allow you to take your birthday cake away from Cafe Mickey after its been presented to you by the characters - we got the platter and the candles as well last time .
