Birthdays at OKW??

I have been out of the loop for a little while. We are currently planning our March trip and will be there for DS bday. Can you request the card/balloon thing still? What can Disney do that won't cost a ton of money?? Thanks

OKW is the only place that has given us balloons and a card signed by Mickey-even though we've visited many different resorts for many different occassions. So it was a total surprise to us when, a couple years ago, I mentioned to the CM checking us in that we were celebrating DS FINALLY graduating from college. I told her since she appeared to be close to his age and would probably understand how happy everyone was. Lo and behold, the next day a bouquet of balloons and a card signed by Mickey. I don't know what it costs Disney to do this, but it was very much appreciated! So from our experience, you have a good chance at OKW.

If you mention it when you book the reservation (make sure to give the date you want it delivered) and ask them to note it, OKW prints out those requests (for B-days, anniversaries and honeymoons) and will deliver a card and balloons without you even saying anything. If you mention it to the CM at check in they can make sure that it is in the delivery book for the date that you want. OKW is very good about those deliveries

Thanks! I know DS would be tickled pink to get something like that. I am glad we will be down there with my cousin and her fam to celebrate it with us. She is like a sister to me and we always have fun together. The kids enjoy eachothers company,too.

When we were there in June my DD celebrated her 13th b'day. We mentioned this when making the reservation and the CM at check in asked her who her favorite character was. Later that day they delivered balloons and a card signed by Tigger. She loved it.

We just celebrated DS's 4th birthday at OKW last September - they knew it was his birthday from when we made the reservation and I told them again when we checked in (I was asking if we could order a cake. Answer was no) and the CM asked how old he was and who his favorite character was. Then on his actual bday we came back to the room and there was a lovely bouquet of balloons and a large photo of Buzz and Woody, signed by both and with a "Happy 4th Birthday Max!" on it. He was THRILLED!
