Birthday Question

My daughters birthday is at the end of september. We are going to ASMovies in mid october 11th to 16th as a big part of her birthday present. We could only go then because my mother was going with us and bringing my 9 year old nephew and that is the only time she could get off work in the fall.

I have read a lot of comments about people saying to make sure you let CM's know it's you or someone in your traveling party's birthday.

My question is, would it be out of line to tell people it's her birthday or should we say we are here for her birthday, and if they ask then tell them it was at the end of september, because I know she would tell them when it was if they asked her and I wouldn't want to tell her to fib about that.

Your thoughts are appreciated, thanks.

It's a birthday trip in my view, so I would just say that I am celebrating my birthday. From late Sept to early Oct is not a big time lag.

On my birthday trips to Disney, I celebrate my birthday every day I'm there. That's the reason I go! To make my birthday a magical experience. Not everyone can go exactly on their birthday even though they will be going to celebrate it.

Don't worry too much about what other people say. I don't consider it to be wrong to celebrate your birthday on another day. After all, then how would be justify giving a birthday party to a child on a day other than their actual birthday?

Tell your DD to enjoy her birthday celebration, that's what she's in Disney to do!

YES!! Tell everyone you are there for her Birthday!! We took my son last year for his birthday. He got the "It's my birthday" pins from the park. I can tell you that if no one noticed, he made sure to tell them and so did his sister. It was very MAGICAL for him. ;)

I think that as long as you tell the CMs that you are celebrating her birthday you should be OK? How old will she be?
We just got back from our "birthday" trip. My DD b-day is July 20 and mine is July 25. They did some wonderful things for my DD birthday but when my DH went down to ask if they would do anything for my b-day they told him that they only celebrate children's birthdays that way. That was OK with me because I had such a wonderful time watching the magic through my 3 year old's eyes. I didn't need anything special done for me. My DH was a little upset because he'd been depending on Disney to help him make my day a little more special.
This is what we did (got) for my DD...
Each day we went to the parks we got her a birthday pin. I believe there are 3 different ones. MGM's is the same as MK's. So when a CM would see the pin, they would wish her a Happy Birthday. We celebrated at three character meals and she was treated very well there. She got a special cupcake and two cards signed by the characters and then she also got a birthday crown and placemat at 1900 Park Fare. Prince Charming sang Happy Birthday to her himself. That'll be quite a memory.
She also got a card with Snow White and the seven dwarfs signed by Snow White delivered to our room at POFQ. I'm assuming our CM at check-in arranged that herself. Soo as you can tell, my DD was given a lot of extra special magical pixie dust. Also we didn't necessarily tell two of the character meals that it was her birthday somehow they already knew it. We only made a big deal of it on the day of her actual birthday. It was a very magical birthday for our little girl.

I was in WDW once year with my son for my birthday. He bought me a Passpor tin Epcot and went in to every country and told the CM it was my birthday and could they write Happy Birthday in my passport in their native language. It is a very nice souvenior and memory for me.
