Birthday present ideas for uncle?

My closest uncle's birthday is coming up in June and my siblings and I would really like to get him something special and unique. He's been our hero our whole lives and just retired from the army last year. Does anyone have suggestions as to what my family could get?

Have you thought of getting him and the family tickets to Disney and building some memories together? Ha

Well, you and the family could always do a memory gift book type of thing where everyone types in their wishes, adds thoughts, etc. I made one for my mother last year and she loved it! This one was just from my family and I, so we could all work on it together in person.

Since most of my siblings are spread out throughout the US, though, I've had to use an online service like CelebrateAHero.com in the past - which let me start a book and then invite others to contribute online. It turned out really great and professional, and the recipient (grandpa) couldn't believe how we all got together to do it.

What about something like this? An Army cross and chain. DB was in the Navy and got a Navy medal as a gift, it was something he always wore. This was what I found when I googled quickly, butI am sure there are other Army charms out there if you like the suggestion.

Does he have anything similar to the plaque posted on the link above? There are lots of styles and they are pretty popular. Basically it's a plaque that you hand that says "home is where the Army sends us" and underneath you hang little tiles listing the places they've been stationed.

That or if you have a scanner a photobook of pics with you and/or your uncle thru the years.
