alright ya'll yet another unique question...

the trip that we have planned is a "joint"birthday trip in that there it was timed to fall between 2 birthdays so that both can consider it a birthday trip...but in doing so it falls about a month after one and a month before the other... having said that with it being considered a birthday trip for both would you consider getting birthday pins for both or do you think it too far from each to do so??

thanks
Robert

Maybe I'm alone on this one, but I would feel weird wearing or having someone in my family wear a birthday button if it wasn't their actual birthday. I'm sure others would be totally fine with it.

Go ahead at wear the pin. Lots of times people have birthday parties that don't fall on their "exact" birthday but they still celebrate. I wouldn't give it a second though. The trip IS to celebrate your birthday.

I'm planning on getting a pin when the kids and I go for my 50th and we'll be going about 4 months after my birthday.

But that is what i told them I wanted for my 50th birthday and since in falls on January 1st we are going to wait for the weather to warm up a little and go in April

My mom lives out of the country so we can't meet on her exact day so we do this for one family member each year. Our birthdays are all close to the trip but not exact. Wearing a pin is fun to celebrate and we always go to a nice meal as well. It is your celebration so I say go for it! We have and its been awesome. Also epcots pin is different or was last year so stop there and get one. Also our family is used to having a party day that is not the real day so this fits nicely.

Most people do, do it when its not the birthday, however Im with Lora on this one, and I wouldnt feel comfortable.
In fact on our last trip it was my birthday in the middle of the trip and DS's was 2 days before we left for vactaion. We were planning on letting him wear a birthday button on the first day of the trip. When it came down to it we all just felt silly about it. Why wear something that says "Today is my birthday", when its not.
But like I said, my opinion is the minority so if you feel comfortable about it, go for it.

My DS will turn 5 when we are down there, and I plan on getting him the buttons on his birthday. I'm not going to let him wear it any other day but his birthday.

How do we get a birthday button? My DD will have her birthday on Sept.6th and we will arrive on Sept 9th. I am definitly considering this as her birthday present.
Thanks,

Go the Guest Relations in each park to collect the B-day button. I also wore mine the entire trip to celebrate my 40th Birthday. It makes the trip more magical! :)

Thanks mmeb144 I will do that. She is turning 20 and I want to make this trip really special for her.

thanks everyone I see a range of thoughts on it so basically I guess I will let them decide...

thanks again for the well thought out responses..

you could also celebrate your "Un-Birthday"...(Alice fans will know what I'm talking about....)

I was wondering the same thing.....

I will be leaving for WDW on August 12th. This is considered my birthday present since we were suppose to go in July and pushed it back to August so that it will fall on my birthday. BUT, my birthday isn't until the 19th when I will be in MK, where I will be wearing a birthday pin, but should I when I'm in the other parks on earlier days too.

I can't decide because I just don't know. We have a nice sit down dinner planned for 2 days before my actual birthday( at Shula's) but I picked out the place because it's my birthday trip.

We planned this whole trip as a "birthday" trip on purpose.....My birthday just didn't HAPPEN to fall on this trip....I planned it exactly for my birthday(since I haven't been in 4 years)

So what should I do???:D

If it was me, I'd only wear a birthday pin on my birthday. Just my opinion though.
I'd feel awkward having people wishing me a Happy Birthday on a non-birthday day. Also, what would you say if someone noticed your pin on more than one day and mentioned it to you.. "Say, didn't you have that birthday pin on yesterday, too?"....

Chiming in here again..........

Here's the only situation where I would have my kids wear the button on a day that's not their actual birthday. My dd chose Cinderella's for her special birthday meal. If I can't book Cinderella's Table for my dd (who's turning 7 in Oct.) on her actual birthday, but I can on the day before or after, I will let her wear the button for breakfast and tell the waiter that "tomorrow is" or "yesterday was" her birthday but this is the day we were able to book the breakfast. (As most people know, this breakfast is VERY hard to book.) If fact, I would probably go as far as to put a piece of tape over the "today is..." part and write "tomorrow". I can't help it, I just have this quirk in my personality or something.

Fortunately my older dd who has a birthday 8 days prior chose to go to the Hoop de Doo for her birthday and we booked that months ago.
