Birthday note

Hello everyone!
When we went to Disney on our last trip, it was my son's birthday. My husband handled adding it to our reservation.
SOOOO, this time it is my husbands birthday. We hit 180 on Monday and will be making reservations together at 6am. How do I add a birthday note? Can I call and have it added after he leaves for work? Or online? I can't do it with him- he will not want a big deal made but he deserves to have a big deal made! The kids will be so tickled to see him getting so much attention, me too!

You can add a special event to the reservation. You can either call or do it online.

You have to call have a celebration added to an ADR. You used to be able to add them when making the ADR online, but that feature was removed during the last major website overhaul.

It's also worth noting that even if you have the birthday noted on the ADR, it does not guarantee that anything will be done. I've had everything from nothing (i.e., not even a happy birthday) to complementary desserts, confetti on the table, etc. It's entirely up the restaurant and the server, so there is no way to know if they'll do anything. It's best not to expect anything, so that way if nothing happens, you won't be disappointed.

Agree with everything figment_jii wrote. Recognition depended on the restaurant and server and it varied from something special to no acknowledgement at all. Also, even if you note his birthday on your reservations, let the CM at the podium and your server know and have him wear his birthday button.

Excellent advice, thank you all!! His favorite is Raglan Road, so we will see what happens. We completely respect that not all places make a big deal but I will try and if it is something special I will ask. He does not need a big to-do at every meal.
