We have a priority seating for a party of 13 at the Carnation Cafe on June 22 for my dd's 15th birthday.

So, when I called Disney Dining I didn't tell them we were celebrating a birthday. Should I call back and tell them? Will the restaurant do anything if they know? or do I have to order a cupcake/cake for daughter ahead?

Thanks so much!

If you want a cupcake or cake for your daughter, you should order it ahead.
(you should do that at any restaurant if you want something special)

At Disney restaurants and non-Disney restaurants, I always try to let them know about a special occasion. I just think it puts you in a better position to get better service

Yes, call Disney Diining back and let them know about the birthday. Disney will help with special occasions if they know about them. Ask about the cupcake, as well as other items they may have for birthdays. Be sure to get the "Birthday Button" for her and make sure she wears it. Happy Birthday..:cool1:

Thank you! I will call back later today when my daughter is out of the house.
I did some searching here and I see there are treasure chest cakes available, but more younger kids... then I saw pics of some bakery cakes that might be available? Can anyone speak to those and their cost?

If we are celebrating anything, we put it in the reservation. We have celebrated birthdays at Carnation Cafe. We received ice cream that I believed looked like Mickey's head with sprinkles. We didn't specifically ask for a cupcake but the dessert was free so that was worth it. It was probably 5 years ago since that trip.

We did the smallest cake they used to have available and it was way too much cake for 6 of us. I don't think they have the 6" cakes anymore. The treasure chests are pretty yucky IMHO...my 4 yr old wouldn't even eat it.

Well, I called Disney Dining back and told them we were celebrating a birthday and asked about cake options.

The treasure chests are $16.99....
but the 10" round bakery cake is $67.00!! No way! Holy Cow! Now I expected Disney pricing... but yikes!

And I asked the lady, "So there is no option between the treasure chest and the $67.00 10" round cake?" and she said, "Nope."

So, I ordered the princess treasure chest... just more for the "experience and memory" since nobody speaks highly of the cake here :lol

But I couldn't figure out any other thing to do?
