:flower3: Hello everyone!!!
My mom told me this morning that we are going to Disney to suprise my brother for his fifth birthday!!!:bday: YAYYYYYYYYY!
Now my family has never done a birthday in Disney but we have been 4 times already so we know some about Disney planning but just need the 414 on birthdays for preschool age in Disney....
by the way here's some info:
1. We wish to visit MK and AK and BB water park
2. We will be staying in Disney for 4 nights 5 days
3. We want to suprise David (my brother) with a cake while charater breakfasting @ LTT
4. It will be a vacation for 4, my father, my mother, my brother (4 turning 5) and myself 12 turning 13
5. We will be staying @ the WL

Past experiances with birthdays, trips to water parks (first time going), groups of 5,12 and two parents, vacations in the summer

Thanks for the Great Advice!

For my bday @ Disney (quite a while back), one of the CM's in a store told me, "Goofy wants to talk to you" she handed me the phone and there was a cute pre-recorded message from Goofy telling me Happy B-day. I was much older than 5 and thought it was adorable , so I'm sure a 5yr old would love it. I'm sure if you asked they could do something like that for him :)

Also, if you go to Guess Relations (I think? I'm sure someone else will know for sure) you can get him a Birthday button that says "Today's my Birthay" (Haven't been there in a while for a bday, but I think a couple of the parks have different ones)

First -- I love Gilmour Girls too -- just wish the finale was better...

We are going to WDW for the 2nd time & for the 2nd time will be celecrating birthdays!

Last trip my DS turned 10 & 6. The 6 year old is very shy & didn't like the attention, so no birthday button for him.

Let your hotel know your bros favorite character & they can arrange a card to be waiting in the room or a call!

If you are on the meal plan, I wouldn't order a cake because it is too much food, instead at every restaurant you go to tell them he is celebrating his birthday. He'll get a piece of cake with candle at most places.

At character meals, call (or have Mom & Dad call) the WDW DINE & have it on the ressie at all character meals. Then remind again when checking in for the meal. Sometimes a card can be waiting ahead of time signed by the characters, but most times the characters will just make a big deal. AGAIN -- ONLY DO THIS IF HE IS OUTGOING -- We had a bit of a meltdown when the entire Sci-Fi sang -- not good.

Leave a note for Mousekeeping -- they are great with the towel animals and can be very clever -- We had our stuffed animals arranged on the bed with a big prop up Happy Birthday note -- and we didn't even tell them! They just saw the cards on the nightstand!

If you are going to Hoop Dee Doo -- Tell the CM at the door BEFORE openning (when everyone is getting the family picture taken at the wagon wheel) and ask if he could "ring the dinner bell" (triangle actually).

I've never been to the waterparks -- Have a great time at them.

I think you are a great sister asking for this info!

Of course, these are all the free suggestions -- for a fee, balloons can be delievered with snack basket, a "special" event can be booked like a hayride.

You are a sweet sister to make sure your brother has a great bday!!

1.) When you check in to the Wilderness Lodge - tell them you would like a birthday button for him (they are the same all over now) they will write his name on it. Have him wear it the whole trip! Characters and cast members and even guests will always wish him happy bday. (unless he is really shy).

2.) You can get him or make him a autograph book for his bday and have all the characters and even servers or guests who make his day special in line sign it - or a tshirt they will not sign on his body so bring a clip board - elastic band to secure it and fabric markers then he could wear the t shirt when he gets home. I just come home and spray it with scotchgard fabric protector so it doesn't fade in the wash.

3.) Go to the Barber shop on Main street in the Magic Kingdom and get his hair done they will cut it if need be and add color streaks, glitter, and sometimes a hidden mickey in colored hair gel. Prices are reasonable.

4.) Take lots of pictures either by your family or have a photopass photographer take them you can order a cd of the photos after the trip its about $125 + shipping and can hold 300 pictures. You can also ask a cast member to take pictures for you so the whole family is in the picture.

5.) If your going with the Dining plan the cake might be a bit much. You can order ahead of time there is a birthday cake thread if you search and it has pricing and phone numbers. If you order at the podium when you check in it's a 6 inch and the icing isn't the best taste.

6.) You can have your parents go to the disney store if you have one close and buy small gifts that he would like and leave him a small gift everynight or morning from his favorite character. We do this with a t shirt, stickers, magic towel. Saves some $$ but he feels special everyday.

I hope your family has a great trip and your brother has a great bday!!!!

:cool1: I am taking my son for his first trip to dw....it will be his 4th birthday on 7-7-7.....we have lots planned....of course the special button, the special phone message, the character breakfast at chef mickey, the special t-shirts we are all wearing....his is with his favorite character daisy...and the number 4 on his back....but the most special thing I wanted for him was the pirate cruise.....he is going to love this....its ages 4-10....they take them out and let them search for treasure that they share in the end.....after researching this and finding out more....I knew this would be the best present ever for my little pirate....good luck and have fun planning....
