We're going to WDW to celebrate my sister's birthday. I know about the pin that she can get that says it's her birthday. Are there some other special perks that I can seek out for her when we go to the resort and parks?

that is the main one some times at table service restraints they will give you a free dessert but I would not exspet this

Most if not all of the cast members will tell her happy birthday. I've had some trips on my birthday when I got free dessert (which was a bummer since that particular trip we were doing dining plan) other than that it's just lots of well wishes and happy feelings. One year (I go every year on or near my birthday, it's my present to me) I picked up a little notebook and pen and went to every country in Epcot and had a cast member write happy birthday in their language and sign their name. I also picked up a pin from each country and took a picture of the country. When I got home I made sort of a shadow box/collage type thing with the picture, pin and happy birthday from each country grouped together. Good memory and loads of fun.

Thanks for the ideas! I love the idea of coordinating your own personalized birthday gift!

I bought a birthday cake for my birthday dinner at Biergarten and then shared with the rest of the table. There was no way dh and I could eat an entire cake! It was fun and I still got a birthday cake and "happy birthday" sung to me.

Not saying you would, but do not ask for something. CM's are far more likely to give something to the kind quiet unassuming folk than the righteous demanding ones. Last year for my birthday (I may have celebrated over two weeks lol!) I got a cupcake at every table service lunch/dinner (had DDP, so double desserts), upgraded to a Dole Whip when all I ordered was a pineapple juice, the CM at Cosmic Rays gave me a handful of the Mickey straws... yeah, those things were cool, and I appreciated them. But what I really loved, and will hold on to and remember forever are the littler things. Birthday cards signed by my "cousin" at 50s Prime Time, Mickey and the gang at Chef Mickeys, etc. The pile of pins (I got a new one every day). The birthday wishes from characters that noticed my button, specifically Anna (we talked about cake) and Dug, who wrote a special message in my book. The CM, I don't even remember where, who stopped me and sang in the street.

Thank you for that thoughtful advice! My sister is very much that quiet, unassuming type, and I want her to have the kinds of memories you & the other posters have described so I will sit back & let her birthday button do the talking & the CMs do their magic!

I have had a couple of Birthdays at WDW. I wore my "Button" but took it off after a while. Truly, I got tired of "Thanking" everyone for the well wishes. In my case, that was all I ever got. I didn't get any free deserts, no special seating at a show or restaurant, no special place in line or on a ride. I am okay with that though. I really didn't need anything special because WDW is special enough for us.

In 2014 we were there on my birthday and my DW (and kids) did manage to Surprise me with a "Mickey" Birthday Cake after a wonderful dinner at the Trails End restaurant. The waiter was awesome and I had no clue (up until a few minutes before they brought out my cake). Not only that, the waiter caught me so off guard, he had asked how old I was, and in my hesitation to figure out what exactly was going on, he made up an age for me that was significantly older than my actual age. It was absolutely magical, and more so that my DW, DD17 (and her BF20) and DD9 (at that time) all knew WELL in advance and were able to keep it a complete secret from me.

Awesome, truly awesome.

We went for my birthday last year (and going again this year!), and I only went in expecting a few 'Happy Birthday's' from people. But I was surprised with cards and free cupcakes from most table service places. That was pretty neat. :)

The only thing I really plan for my birthday celebrations in Disney is eating breakfast at Crystal Palace. My mom loves it there, and it's one of the best character meals IMHO. They even decorated the table with Mickey confetti, which I admittedly keep in my wallet to this day.

We love Crystal Palace for Breakfast! Sounds like you had a Magical Birthday. How awesome is that!

You can special order a birthday cake for her, we did this for my Sis in law & it was beautiful! Also, make a notation on your reservations that you're celebrating a birthday, ya never know what they will come up with!

I've gotten a couple of cupcakes and some birthday cards too, but I don't wear my BD pin the entire time I am there. My best surprise though was having the Dapper Dans sing Happy Birthday to me. I just saw them on the street and they spotted my pin and sang to me. Best pixie dust ever!

We were there for my son's birthday (he turned 10) last year and he actually got taken in the back way on Thunder Mountain and put on a car so he could watch the fireworks from the ride with my husband. He got lots of birthday wishes, some stickers, and even an extra blank fast pass to use on whatever he and my husband wanted. (I was hanging with our little one) They used it to go on the Seven Dwarves Mine Train which had a 2 hour wait. He never asked for anything, he was just lucky I think. We are going again next week during his 11th birthday and I'm going to have to prep him not to expect anything!!!

We are celebrating our 45th anniversary at Disney. I cannot think of the exact name for it now, but I ordered this dessert slipper for the end of our meal at CRT. It is a chocolate dessert shaped like Cinderella's slipper. I think the price is $12.50 and we could have so many letters written in chocolate on the plate. Ours will just say happy 45th anniversary. I am sure you could do that with a birthday greeting too. I think there might be other places to get it. My anniversary treat for my husband and myself.

My niece will be celebrating her 13th birthday.. we have made a couple of ADR's I am looking at reservations on MDE and can not find a place to indicate we are celebrating.. Can someone help me out?

I called and asked for it to be noted on our adr. :)

Make sure your birthday is noted In the actual reservation. Last year my daughter stopped wearing her pin, but when she scanned for fast passes, it says happy birthday, so the cm at the line woild always say something.
