Birthday ideas?

Hi folk!! We depart on the 7th Aug to Orlando and are stopping for two weeks. While were there my DS will be celebrating his 12th birthday, anyone suggest some good places to go for a nice birthday supper? Not onsite

Any ideas much appreciated

Hi AND WELCOME TO THE DISBOARDS.
Is your son into sport ? if he is why dont you check out the ESPN at the boardwalk.
They have loads of screens up showing all sorts of games ie american football etc. The food choices are burgers nachos hotdogs etc My eldest daughter whi is 12 is an avid footie player and she loves it in there and there are quite a lot of choices for her to choose from.
If you time it right you can come out and walk along the boardwalk and watch Epcots fireworks which is cool. The boardwalk has generally lots of outside performers which you can stop and watch as well.
I know the rainforest cafe is really cool but personally I don't rate the food and your paying premium for the experience.
I know you mentioned off site but have you thought of some of the hotel resorts to eat in ?
If I can be of any help please let me know

The best place we ate as was the Mythos Restaurant in Islands, though this shuts at 7 pm.

We enjoyed the food at the Rainforest Cafe and if you buy a dessert with sparklers, think it is called the volcano, all the servers come out clapping to your table and surround it. I think they sing Happy Birthday to you. I dont know if this may be too much for your child, depends how extrovert he is, mine would have hated it. However, the atmosphere is really good and if you have never ate there I am sure he would like it. It has moving animals, rainstorms, lightening and thunder which makes it quite a unique place to eat.
