Birthday Dinner or 4 year old twin boys!!

Hi! We have reservations for our boys at Chef Mickey's who will turn 4 in November while we are in DW. Now my parents and sisters want to go and we can't change the reservation to accomodate them. Any suggestions of somewhere just as good and fun to go to celebrate?? It doesn't need to be a character dinner!! Thanks for your advice!

Perhaps breakfast ressies? We don't usually eat a sit down dinner at the parks, but if you were interested in a breakfast, We loved Crystal Palace & they have the Pooh Bear characters. For dinner we have enjoyed the Liberty Tree Tavern, although I have heard this has changed.

I hear the Poly has a nice dinner.

How many more are you? We showed up with two extra at Chef Mickey's (we were a party of 11 instead of a party of 9). They accommodated our extra guests fine. They did the same at CRT lunch.

If you are doubling the size of the party, perhaps that's an issue, but it may not be a problem.

Is Chef's Mickey's sold out? If not, can you get a separate reservation for the others? Party of four or whatever. If you can, grab it, then show up together and they'll probably be able to seat you together.

In any event, I'd keep what you have but book a later back-up, which you can cancel if they are able to accommodate you at CM's.

Ideas for a back-up for 4 year old boys' birthday:

Garden Grill at Epcot is a Mickey character dinner, but requires Epcot admission, which may be an issue.

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge can be entertaining for kids, though not everyone likes that brand of humor.

Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge is a nice buffet (no characters).

Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner. No princesses plus boys often find it fun to eat in the Castle. The Fairy Godmother is there to help celebrate birthdays.

Coral Reef (Epcot) -- our boys loved it at that age (tank full of sharks, turtles, etc.)

'Ohana at the Poly -- we don't care for the food, but many love it. There are coconut races and other kids' activities. Some table have fireworks views.

I would try Crystal Palace,100 Park and Fare, Coral Reef,Tepan Edo, or whispering canyon although I would probably not try it, I think if someone threw straws at me I would most likely throw them back, but from what I hear, it is fun!

How about trying to get a reservation for CM for the remaining people as close to the same time as possible. Then show up at the podium together and ask if they can either combine the two groups or sit you at adjoining tables. Generally this would be a workable solution.

We have 6 yr old twins and this will be their 5th trip in December....

They want to eat at these charac meals EVERY time...their faves are....

Garden Grill
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey's
Liberty Tree Tavern, but no charac there for now
Akershush (but those are princesses)
and the Lilo and Stitch one at the Poly...(don't know the name right now)

...in the end it has nothing to do with the food but the characters and the interactions....

hope they have a great birthday. I would love to take mine for theirs but it is in July and I am too sucky for that heat!
