WHO:
DS - He will be celebrating 8th birday @ WDW. He hates usual kids meal: mac & cheese, chicken nuggets, hamburger, PB&J, etc. He loves salad, sushi, shrimp, and ice cream.

ME - Disney vet (+10 trips) and I love seafood, sushi, steak! In real life, I rarely have desserts/juice/soda. But at Disney, I try to have as much as I can.

DH - Unfortunatly, he has 2 week business trip to Europe during the time so he will not be joining us. :sad2: Normally, he cleans all the plates including DS and my left over.

DCuz - He has been working overseas for last 5 years. He's taking 3 months overdue vacation and will be flying into JFK (NY) on Sept 23. He'll be flying in 25th 9pm. It's his first visit to WDW and he's very excited.

I'm little nervous since this is the first vacation without DH. At first, I was going to cancel when I found out DH's business trip overlaps but DS was so sad. So I decided to brave myself and do this. I could see that this trip will leave very special memories for DS and me.

WHEN:
Sept 24~30 (6night/7day) with Free Dining

WHERE:
Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ)

Little Background:
Last year, we only used a few kids CS credits for DS since he does not eat usual kids choices. Instead, DS ate off DH and my plate and almost same thing happened in most TS restaurants. We were mostly fine with sharing 2 adult portions between 3 people. However, recently, DS's appetite and portion size grew and he eats more than me (most times) so sharing an adult meal with DS is not an option anymore (especially CS meals). After reading many threads on DIS, I learned that I could upgrade DS's park ticket to adult ticket and receive adult DDP.

We have lots more TS ADRs than allotted 6TS from DDP. At first, I debated over upgrading to DxDP but it's just too much food and with DxDP, I'll be tempted to maximize the plan (over kill) so decided against it.
There's another definite week long trip within a year, so we will be upgrading our tickets to Annual Passes (APs) and buy Tables in Woderland Card (TiW) instead. This way, DS and I could order appetizer which we love and buy some meals OOP. So we will be mixing DDP with TiW. Also, we are renting a car so that gave me much freedom when I was making ADRs.

My cousin decided to join us (11 days before departure) so I've been Disney Dining online all yesterday, trying to get new ADRs for 3 people. :headache: Mostly, I did get what I wanted by shuffling around dates/times. However, early morning character breakfast at Tusker is not available. I guess I'm not surprised that they are not. Those things are what DS requested so if I cannot get new ADRs than DS and I might just go by ourselves and DCuz could meet us at the park after opening.

Looking forward to hearing your reviews when you return. You are getting back about a week before our trip. Happy Dining!

We live about 45 minutes away from Jersey shore. Outer edge of Irene reached here a couple hours ago and it's just pouring. Nothing much to do except get myself entertained from DIS tonight. ;) Our house is located in higher part of the town... on top of a hill so no worry for flooding. Just worried that we might loose electricity from wind damage. Hopefully, everyone makes through Irene ok. :grouphug:

I'm definitely joining in and looking forward to all your reviews!! You are eating at some great places! :thumbsup2

I got my answer in that you are not staying at Pop but am sure you will have a great trip. I can't wait to hear about the Wishes Dessert Party - we were not successful with our quest to get an ADR!

Edit: Just seen your post about Irene - hope you stay safe

:welcome: Thank you! We are all safe and no damage for us. Lots of trees fell last night. It was some serious rain with winds. We lost power last night around 9pm. DS 7 enjoyed having no lights, playing with glow sticks/flash lights/ light-up toys. He had a blast!!!:lmao:

Yes we are looking forward to Wishes Dessert Party also! We are celebrating DS's birday (26th) and we'll be celebrating a day earlier!!!

IRENE NEWS
We went to bed pretty early around 10 pm having nothing to do without electricity. This morning around 8am we decided to go out and see, since rain slowed down to drizzle. Many trees were uprooted and half the town lost the power. We grabbed breakfast at Cracker Barrell (since we still had no power) and that's the only open restaurant. We came home around 10am and our power came on soon after. We are very greatful that we didn't have any damage. :woohoo: However, many of the houses around us had their basement filled with water. :scared1:

Joining in. Glad you survived Irene! Half my team is in Mt Laurel, NJ (outside Philly) and I'm waiting to hear how they made out.

Jill, thank you for joining in!!!

We live in Cherry Hill, which is next to Mt Laurel. We had minimal damage, just loss of power and some basement flooding so your team should be ok!
:welcome:

We have ADR at LeCellier at noon. If you see us, please come and say "hi!" It's our last day as well and only F&W Festival Day (thankfully our flight is pretty late) so we are going to enjoy it as much as we possibly can. :rolleyes1

Our ADR is at 11:30, so we may very well see each other! Stop and say HI if you see us on your way in! :thumbsup2

I'm in that "I change my ADRs 1000 times" club. While I was searching online ADR site, I found 5:30pm for Kona Cafe on 25th (it was Kimonos before). I thought it's perfect timing since we need to head to MK after for Wishes Dessert Party and minimizes travelling (even with a car). So I moved our Kimono to 28th instead.

Hopefully, I'm finished with changing ADRs.:lmao:

DS started school and after school activities last week. I've been driving all over the town. :headache: Over the weekend, I finally managed to pack a package to the resort. We only do carry-ons and we send all bath stuff and others we cannot cary via mail. This morning before work, I managed to send the package which came to around $9.

This Sat, we'll have family dinner to celebrate DS's birthday early. I still need to order cake and prepare for that.

We are 12 days from WDW!!! :cheer2:

Cant wait for your reviews..have a great time and take lots of pics!

My cousin decided to join us for the trip at the last minute. He's been working overseas for last 5 years and he is taking long overdue vacation for 3 months and spending all of it here in the states. I did ask him to join us a couple of months ago but he graciously declined at the time but changed his mind. He has been to Disneyland a few times but Disney World is his first time.

ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT I NEED TO REMAKE ALL MY ADRS!!!:scared1:

All yesterday, I've been Disney Dining online system, trying to book for 3 instead of 2. I gotten lucky with a few but I could see that early morning Crystal Palace and Tusker House, and Wishes Dessert Party aren't going to happen that easily. :sad2: Those are the things DS requested so I guess if I cannot get ADRs for 3 than I guess DS and I would go and meet DCousin afterward???? I feel bad but he understands that some ADRs are hard to come and he's prepared to grab something while we go. :guilty:

I just updated the ADR but I'm constantly searching online! :headache:

Yeah, I don't think you'll have much luck--maybe on that day???? Walk up and ask sweetly? Who knows???? Have a great trip! See ya around the parks!

I've been constatly dining online site checking for opening this week. I've managed to find everything except Tusker House and Ohana breakfast. I kept our ADR for 2 and see if they could accomodate one more person. But if not, DCuz is ready to grab food somewhere else.

Only 2 DAYS LEFT!!!! You have a great trip also and hopefully we see each other around the parks. :dance3::cheer2::banana::yay:

I just scored Ohana breakfast! Only thing is that it's not 30th but 27th but it will do.
