We are going in June (4th-9th) for our first family trip. It is a first trip for most of us. We are celebrating several milestones this year-Parents 20th anniversary on May 3rd, DD first birthday on May 14th, and sister's 19th birthday on June 12th. What is the etiquette for birthday/anniversary buttons? This trip is officially to celebrate my parent's anniversary but I don't know if it is considered acceptable for them to get buttons since it is a month later.

That's fine. People rarely go at the actual time of their celebration.

You can go to guest relations and get them. We were a week out from my nephews bday and got him one. I went there one just to get a I'm celebrating button and really wasn't celebrating anything other than I was at Disney. LOL

We will be there the same time as you. Celebrate as many things as you want, no matter their date! Enjoy your trip!

You can get any button you want, regardless of the actual date. We went on our 20th anniversary trip months after our anniversary. There were no park police asking for verification of the date.

My kids love to get these. We are celebrating my DD's 7th bday, DSS's 10th bday and mine as well. I will probably ask for 'celebrating' ones for my DS and DSD and DF... So that everyone can have one to wear

I got a birthday button at MK a few days before my actual birthday when we went a few weeks ago. I felt guilty so I told the lady who handed it to me that it wasn't my actual birthday. She cracked up and assured me it was ok:joker:

I got a birthday button during my December trip and my birthday was 3 weeks earlier in November. I got it at my hotel when I was checking in, they asked if I was celebrating anything and I said it was kind of a belated birthday trip and they gave me a button! It's not like they're going to demand proof or anything, and sometimes you can't always go on your birthday or whatever you're celebrating.

I should have my husband read this thread. We arrived one day after my 40th birthday two years ago and he threw a fit that I got a birthday button and it was my birthday trip. I'm going to make him pay though. Our next trip is three weeks before our 24th anniversary and he will be wearing a button for that. Muwhahaha!!
