anyone know what you get if spending your birthday at WDW? We are thinking we will go again for our daughters 5th birthday (a couple years away)

You don't officially "get" anything. You can go to the guest services desk in each park and pick up a button (okay, you get a button). There she may receive a congratulatory phone call from Goofy, and maybe a set of fastpasses for the attraction of your choice. Anything other "bonus" you may receive is completely at the CMs discression.

It is a wonderful way to spend your (or anyone's) birthday. Plan on making your own magic, because while Disney will try to make it magical for each birthday guest it might not reach you. For example, when making your resort reservations, make sure you mention that "on this date, it is DD 5th birthday". Depending on who is on duty on that day, you may get a card or balloons in the room or nothing at all. YOu can also arrange through Disney to provide a cake or presents to the room for a price.

You can also make ADR for a character meal on her birthday and mention it when making the ADR and they will give her a card with all the character's signatures and a small cake. THey also decorate the table.

Point is make your own magic with Disney's help and anything extra that is done is really great.

we stayed at pop during my dd`s 10th birthday and they sent balloons and a card with a picture of cinderella in front of the castle autographed to our room. And 2 days later on my birthday they did the same thing but with snowwhite.. I did hint at check in that I loved Snowwhite, but they had asked who her favorite character was also.
we both got birthday pins on our special day..............she had a magical moment a few times during her day..........one was we had fast passes to soarin, and the girl taking the tickets asked her if shes ever been on soarin yet. she said no I havent, well the cm handed her back all 4 fp and said happy birthday princess! we got to go right on again! getting off the ride the 2nd time, they said o the birthday princess and her whole family get to ride again! Soarin 3 times in a row, nice birthday present, huh?

We are going next week when it is my twins' 5th birthday. We made ADR for the Princess breakfast & will end the day at the Crystal Palace watching the fireworks. I plan to have them wearing T-shirts that announce it is their birthday.
