Birthday balloons upon arrival?

Hi!
Can you still get birthday balloons sent to your room free of charge? I had this done in the past for my daughter's birthday. We will again be at WDW to celebrate her birthday and I wanted to have some balloons for her. Last time we went I contacted the resort, they asked who her favorite character was, and a few balloons and a card with an autographed picture of the character were in our room. This time I contacted the DVC and they replied that I need to call the Disney florist to have this done. Should I contact OKW directly? Anyone done this recently?

Unfortunately, so many people now request this sort of thing that it has become very hit or miss. If you are lucky and you get the right CM, you might receive a card and balloons. However, it doesn't always happen. Normally, even if it does happen, they will not be there at check in. Most rooms are not assigned until you check in, therefore, nothing is delivered to a guest room until after check in.

So, if you want to be sure to receive something, do contact the Disney Florist. If you are willing to go with the flow, have them note the birthday on your reservation and hope for the best.

We celebrated my Grandson's 2nd B-day while in Disney in August, I called the morning of his B-day and asked about Balloons, and was told that it should have been done at least 24hrs prior to the day, but they did make an expection and we got the Balloons & signed card, Boardwalk is wonderful!

Tell them when you check in, and again 24hrs prior to actual day.

I agree with Feralpeg. If you want something special done arrange and pay for something yourself. Otherwise you are at the mercy of the resort. If they are busy that day and don't have anyone to do it you may not receive anything.
