DS will have his 10th birthday when we are in DLP in January..
Where is the best place to go for a character meal ?( we have already had one in the Disneyland Hotel which we thought was very expensive and over rated )
There seems to be quite a lot of good reports about Cafe Mickey, anyone have any ideas or come up with suggestions for something else. I did think about the Birthday celebration but there are only 4 of us and none of us especially like cake - or if we did like the cake only one of us would eat it - ME - not good for the diet

We love CM and I would think your son would too. You can pre-order a birthday cake there if you wish. LNS also gets good reviews but I haven't eaten there although will be on our next trip.

Definitely sounds like Cafe Mickey would be best. It is on or list when we next visit :goodvibes

Cafe Mickey most definately. :cloud9:
Hope you have a lovely time, we are there in January too.
If you are there when we are, we'll sing your DS happy birthday

We will be there 7-10 Jan inclusive - staying at HNY

Thanks for your help everyone

When do you suggest we go ( for which meal ) will I need to phone ahead to book table and Cake or will I be able to do it when we arrive at DLP ?

As it's January (ie. not too busy) I would say unless it's for your arrival night then you are safe to wait and book it when you get there.

I think it's entirely whether you would prefer to go for lunch or dinner. Lunchtime should be quieter so should early evening (say before 6.30pm). Although when we went last Christmas it was packed to the rafters yet we still had fantastic service and brilliant character interaction. :thumbsup2

Another vote for Cafe Mickey from me!

We to DLP in the summer and for my sister's 21st we went to Cafe Mickey -- had a lovely meal and the whole atmosphere was wonderful when the waiters and characters brought out the cake and it was an unforgettable moment!

Especially with all the singing & dancing! :cool1:

I think you can book in advance, but my mum just booked it at the hotel consierge desk on our first day, and we were there in July when it was very busy.

Hope you all have a fantastic time!
